Vehicle Detail
1962 Volkswagen Beetle Here is one clean, relatively rust free 1962 Volkswagen Beetle ragtop sedan. I have owned this car for a year or so, and bought it with the intention of making it a daily driver. It will do 75mpg down the highway. This car has NO TITLE. I ran out of time and desire to even get a title for this car. The Good: Straight body 12v Runs and drives Intact ragtop assembly New master cylinder and rear brake line Clean pan and very minimal rust All the glass is there The Bad: Rear apron a little bent Motor smokes after sitting No interior NO TITLE Needs full restoration or could be made into a cheap driver I could go on all night about this car. Email me with any questions and I'll reply promptly. Thanks! I would highly recommend having this car shipped or towing it yourself. I put a factory black steering wheel on it last night and threw that old ugly GT Grant wheel away. What you see is what you get. I have no other parts or stuff for this car. I have a pretty low reserve set. I have total confidence it will be met soon. On Nov-09-11 at 14:56:59 PST, seller added the following information: ::::UPDATE #2:::: This car has a 1600 dual port engine and factory swing arm transmission. The body and pan are matching for 1962. I've got a few questions about the title/legal status of this car: The car has a clear VIN inspection, so obviously it isn't stolen! I started the process to get the title, but its more work than I have time for with a baby on the way. Whats my reserve? $1200 bucks - VERY fair price for this car. On Nov-09-11 at 19:30:23 PST, seller added the following information: ::::UPDATE #3:::: I've been getting lots of questions about the car. Here are the answers for everyone: Mileage on the car is unknown (over 100,000 miles). Interior lamp, windshield wipers, and license plate light don't work (license plate light DID work, but I cut the wire taking the decklid off). Heater blows super hot due to the heater channels being intact and rust free. The running boards are aftermarket chrome reproductions. They look cool on the car and aren't cheap. Shifter is some kind of aftermarket short throw (ala Scat, EMPI). Yes, there is a hole where the radio goes thats covered by tape. I dont have the blockout. Emergency brake works but the handle needs to be adjusted. Valves were adjusted maybe 1000 miles ago along with new plugs, cap, rotor, carb cleaning, fuel line, fuel filter, and oil change.
