No Reserve Auction!! Buy This Truck....Mount A Plow....and Make CA$H This Winter!! This auction is for a 1988 Chevy 3500 Heavy Duty 1 Ton 4X4 dual wheeled Dump Truck. This truck is equipped with a 5.7 liter (350 C.I.) V-8, 3 speed manual transmission (4 speed including the "Granny Low"), Power Steering, and a steel Thiele Dump Body. Mechanically....this truck is SOLID, starts right up and runs very well. It has a current NJ State Inspection sticker. The four wheel drive works great and includes manual hubs. The dump body is PTO powered, works great and is super powerful. The inside of the dump bed and walls have been recently redone with welded in heavy smooth steel plating which looks new from the inside. The seat is torn, the lights work and the heater and defroster blow HOT!! As you can see, this truck has surface rust on the fenders, hood and roof just like almost every other 1988 Chevy truck out there. For some reason GM had a paint problem on 1986-1988 trucks and most original paint jobs look the same if not worse. The good news is that the rust on those panels is only surface rust and can be easily sanded off and repainted. The rocker panels are extremely solid although the lower cab corners do have some rust. The cab floors are heavily rusted in the footwell areas and could use patching or replacing. The dump body is SOLID heavy steel and again the rust you see is only surface rust and could be blasted right off before painting. The dump body has wood side extensions which are easily removed. I recently purchased this truck from a friend who used it almost daily over the last few years for towing his landscape trailer and occassionaly hauling mulch for his landscape business. My intentions were to mount a plow on it and begin plowing snow this winter. He never used it for plowing and in fact there is no evidence of this truck ever having a plow on it. Since purchasing it, I have had a change in my career and will no longer have the flexibility in my work schedule for this endeavor. I have tried to describe this truck as accurately as possible but understand that although this truck is in good mechanical condition, it is over 20 years old and is being sold "As is - Where Is" with no warranties or guarantees.
