1999 Nissan Altima - 4 Door - 4 Cylinder - 220,376 Miles Don't let the miles fool you. Car starts, runs and drives nice. This car is going to the highest bidder in "As Is" condition. Good tires - brakes feel fine - I did not pull a wheel to check the pads. Motor does not smoke, make noise, leak or misfire. Tranny is fine, strong shift, no leaks. Check Engine light was on and a scan indicated an O2 sensor. The computer was cleared. The Check Engine light might or might not come back on. If the light comes back on it will not pass NY State's inspection. In NY, the emission part of the inspection process is very strict. If a battery goes dead or an illuminated “Check Engine” light is reset, the onboard computer has to relearn information that determines if the vehicle’s various systems are functioning properly (i.e. catalytic converter efficiency or proper air/fuel mixture). Sometimes a vehicle needs to be driven hundreds of miles for the computer to relearn this information. It is sometimes easier to sell such a vehicle out of state where these inspection laws don’t apply or the new owner can drive the car with purpose instead of wasting time and gasoline in order to accomplish the computer reset. If the “Check Engine” light should pop back on (sometimes for something as insignificant as a loose gas cap), the process starts all over again! More miles of driving aimlessly with time and fuel waste. Body is clean, straight and shiney. There's a rust spot on the hood (as pictured). Interior is very nice - could use a good detailing job. All the buttons and lights seem to work. Drive it home! New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy. I try to describe these vehicles to the best of my 35 years of experience. Our familiarity with these autos is limited to the miles we drive them. Please be aware of this when bidding.
