Vehicle Detail

1986 Ford F-350 Diesel Crew Cab Pick-Up Truck 1986 Ford F-350 Crew Cab Diesel Dually Pick-Up Truck for sale. I purchased this truck from the original owners in June of 2010 for use as an extra pick-up truck, and occasional tow vehicle for various enclosed race car trailers ranging from 16 to 34 ft. in length. The original owners purchased the truck brand new in 1986 from Brondes Ford in Toledo, OH and still had the original Bill of Sale, as well as all documentation and records for maintenance and modifications, which they included in the sale or the vehicle. This truck is equiped with the 6.9 litre diesel engine which came from the factory non-turbocharged in the 1986 model year. The original owners added an aftermarket ATS Turbo-Charger system (this same ATS system later became original equipment from the factory on these trucks) and a Gear Vendors 2-Speed Under-Drive gearbox which is installed directly behind the C-6 Automatic Transmission. The truck currently has 122,200 total actual, original miles. At approx. 88,000 miles the original engine short block assembly was replaced with a remanufactured assembly, the Cylinder Heads were rebuilt, and re-installed along with a complete rebuild of the C-6 Automatic Transmission, including the installation of a Remanufactured Torque Converter Assembly. The receipts for all these items, along with all installation manuals and parts listings for the ATS Turbo System and Gear Vendors Under-Drive unit were included in the sale of the truck from the original owner and will go with the truck when it sells. Approx 30 days prior to my purchase of the truck, 2 new batteries were installed and the air conditioning system was serviced. To my knowledge the truck was always stored inside in a building on the previous owners farm, and has been stored inside a commercial building the time I have owned the truck. At some point the truck was repainted. In the pictures of the truck you can see minor rust areas in the bottom of the doors and bottom of the fenders. This rust is on the outer panels only and is not through the paint, but it can be seen. If you look at the pictures of the interior side of the doors you will notice the panels are not rusted. Overall the truck is solid body wise, with only minor surface rusted areas on the underside of the cab and bed. The paint job on the truck is not the most outstanding job I have ever seen, but the truck is very presentable, for a vehicle of this year. The interior is extemely clean with the exceprtion of the front seat has been recovered in vinyl as opposed to cloth like the rear seat, and when the Turbo System was installed someone mounted the EGT and Boost Gauges on top of the Glare Sheild. Also the AM-FM radio does not work. This may be as simple as an antenna issue. I have just never taken the time to troubleshoot it. The truck is equiped with both a Goose Neck Hitch in the bed and a 2 " Receiver Type Hitch under the rear bumber. Both hitch locations have been recently rewired with new 7 way Bargman Type Plugs, and both plugs are wired to a new Electric Trailer Brake Controller. The only other maintenance I have performed since aquiring the vehicle was normal Oil and Filter Changes, as well as changing the Fuel Filter. All tires are 70% tread remaining or better. There is some weather checking on the side of the tires from age. The truck actually rides quite well and drives nicely, with no excessive play in the steering or suspension. I do occasionally notice some minor vibration in the truck at speeds above 65 miles per hour, and would attribute that to the weather checking in the tires and the fact the truck was not being driven much prior my purchasing the vehicle. I would assume the tires could be slightly out of round and/or out of balance. I have put approx. 5,000 miles on the truck since I purchased it, including using it this last weekend to pull a 34ft. tri-axle race car trailer to Michigan and back, and have never had a problem with the truck. It always starts up, with absoulutely no exhaust smoke, and has been totally reliable in the time I have owned it. I have multiple tow vehicles and the truck has become surplus to my needs. My reason for purchasing the truck at the time was simple. I needed an extra truck/tow vehicle on occasion, and when I looked at used diesel duallies, everything that was below $10,000 had 200,000 to 300,000 miles on it, and was pretty much worn out. Obviously, this is an older truck, but it is a lot of bang for the buck with only 112,000 miles total, and only approx. 24,000 miles on the engine and trans., with the receipts to prove it. With a little TLC this truck can provide someone with years of utility at a very affordable price. Please feel free to message me through ebay with any questions, and I will be happy to answer with as much information as I can provide. THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME TO LOOK, AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! This item is being relisted due to Non-Payment by previous high bidder. After agreeing to work with previous auction winner, and holding the vehicle for 30 days, and receiving numerous emails while bidder claimed they were working out their funding, bidder was a no show on scheduled delivery date, without so much as a phone call or email to notify me they were unable to complete the transaction. Please do not bid on this item if you are not funded, or cannot abide by the terms of the auction as listed. It is not fair to the legitimate bidders and wastes everyones time. Be advised, all funds used for payment on this vehicle (Including Cash) will be verified for legitamacy by my banking institution prior to vehicle and title release. I have received a few messages from ebay members asking for additional information with regards to issues showing up on the AutoCheck by Experian for this vehicle. The AutoCheck is showing an issue with the odometer, and the milage reported on the Ohio Title. Keep in mind this is a 1986 vehicle, and the truck was manufactured with only a 5 didgit odometer, plus one digit for tenths of a mile. Apparently at some point the original owner applied for a duplicate title (due to a lost or misplaced title) and at the time of application (04/11/2003) listed the odometer reading as 100,200 miles. This would have been incorect as the odometer cannot display that number, as it is only 5 digits. The Title should have been applied for listing the milage as 200 miles, with the box on the Title notating the odometer reading exceeded the mechanical limits of the odometer. When I titled the truck, I listed the milage in the correct manner as 8,835 miles with the box checked that the milage exceeded the mechanical limits of the odometer. I am assuming this is the reason for the issue being reported. With regards to the vehicle being involved in an accident, I have no information on that issue. I purchased the truck from an elderly farming couple who were the original owners of the vehicle. The truck is 25 years old, so I would assume there is that possibility it was involved in in some sort of a reportable incident or accident at some point in its life. How minor or how major I would have no way of knowing. As mentioned in the vehicle discription, the truck has been repainted, so maybe that is when the truck was repainted. When I purchased the truck, I did not assume I was purchasing a classic or collectable truck, I assumed I was purchasing a working farm truck, and verified the milage stated on the work orders for the engine and transmission overhaul were in line with the odeometer reading of the truck at the time I purchased it. I saw no obvious sign of the truck being involved in an accident when I purchased it, and as stated the truck does not have even a hint of smoke (even at first start of the day on a cold engine) , and uses no oil. Based on these facts I am comfortable with the vehicle description as listed. Thanks for taking time to look and good luck bidding!
