NICE! 1972 Ford Ranchero GT - 351 Cleveland - ONE OWNER - Nice!Based on the Torino platform, the Ranchero was newly-styled for 1972. While new Federal emission controls were starting to restrict performance of many U.S. autos, Ford offered the 351 Cleveland V-8 as an option on the special Ranchero GT, which boosted the performance to 300 horsepower. This is one of those special Rancheros.This particular truck was sold new on August 28, 1972 by Dee Thomason Ford in Portland, Oregon. The owner, a respected master mechanic who specialized in restoration of antique automobile engines (everything from the 1910's through the 60's) pampered this Ranchero throughout his life.Seat covers were fitted from new, and have been recently removed to reveal a beautiful original black interior. The paint ("Medium Coral") and silver/black GT striping are original and in excellent condition. Newer wheels and tires in excellent condition. The truck bed was always protected with a sheet of plywood and covered with a GemTop canopy, which was removed for the photos and will be included with the auction. As the photos show, the body has no rust or damage, never wrecked and always garaged and covered by a car cover.The original 351 V-8 engine runs great with plenty of power and no issues. It has never been raced or abused. Remember, this Ranchero was owned by a master mechanic from new as his personal vehicle. It has always been well maintained. Since his passing, the truck has been started regularly and stored by his family. They would like to see it enjoyed by someone who will appreciate it as much as their father did.
