Vehicle Detail
I have up for sale my daily driver Scout Traveler. I bought this Scout a year ago from a guy that was going to part it out because he only needed the transmission which he already had taken out. When I asked if it ran he said he had not started it in 10 years but it turned. Since I have a scout and have been around them I knew that if it turned the 345 would run with a little work. I also noticed that it had less then 50k miles on it and that the plates said California. I looked around and found very little rust. It also was a midas package like my other scout. I went ahead and bought the scout and had it running the next day. I then went through the scout from top to bottom. Here are the updates that I put into this survivor: New 33" tires, Powder coated the rims black, All new brakes top to bottom including master cylinder and power assist unit, A/C Compresser and dryer, All new vinyl seats using the 4 buckets and added the 3rd row so that it seats 7 all with seat belts, All new vinyl side panels to match the seats, Sprayed entire bed with Por 15, All new brown fitted carpet, New rebuilt 727 transmission, New Eldebrock Carb, New Battery, New hoses, New Plugs and wires, New 19 Gallon plastic gas tank with sending unit, New 4 Inch Lift Kit, New hydrahlic arms for rear door, All new weather stripping, new side marker lamps, new chrome seal around rear window, New windshield seal, New Kenwood steero system with 4 speakers, New plastic glove box, Complete doors and hood off paint job using the 2011 Ford Bronze Enamel color, complete black paint of engine compartment and under hood, Only repaired a few spots of rust and replaced them with metal ( NO BONDO OR FILLER!), Cut out a few soft spots in the main floor and replaced them with new metal ( there was none that had completly rusted through but just wanted it to be down while I was doing it and before I put the POR 15 over it. Some of the features that the Midas package has is that you get dual sun roofs. This looks very cool almost like eybrowes when you have them open. The other cool features included the swival captains chairs and the plaid ceiling decor. I have added my own touch by installing the 15 Inch DVD player and Gaming unit along with the custom console with a GPS mounted in it. This Scout is in very good shape and I drive it to work and to the airport and it has never let me down. The only reason that I am selling it is because my office is a 80 mile round trip. It will cruise down the interstate at 75-80 with no problem! Here are the very few bad things that I want to disclose: -The back gate does not seal all the way around but does close. It does not leak water in just can see daylight towards the bottom. I have been told that this was a problem with the the Travelers - I do not have any locks on the doors - The dash has a small crack that i tried to repair but you can still see it. - The paint looks great but there are few very minor dents on the hood and one on each door ( I was not going for the showroom Frame Off , Just a sharp rust free daily driver) - Scout Parts owe me a side interior plastic panel - I will have the armrests installed this week I just have not gone over and picked them up. If you are looking for a great head turner this is the truck! I just got 2 thumbs up tonight before I got home! If I only had to drive 5-10 miles for work I would not be selling this Scout! Please email with any questions before bidding. I might be able to deliver the Scout depending on where you are because I travel for my job.
