Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a Willys Jeep that is painted OD/Green. Comes with many accessories to enhance the Military look. "I am selling this jeep for a friend of mine and will represent it as best I can to be accurate". There is no VIN number for this jeep so please don't ask for it. The jeep has three (3) Data Plates with the matching serial number stamped on each that reads: "JEEP CJ2 Willys Corp. Toledo Ohio # 153970" One plate was under the hood, one on the rear body and one on the frame at the left front behind the bumper. We are not positive of the year and do not have a title for it. The buyer will need to obtain a title for the jeep. I have done some research and found that this jeep could be a late 1945 model as per the Data Plate info and locations. However,I am selling it as a "1946 Military Replica Jeep". I am also selling it in "as-is" condition without warranty. The replica 50 cal gun is included as well as any other items pictured with the jeep. It cranks and runs fine, and is driven in parades, and to local shows and exhibits. If you have any questions about this jeep please contact me. The Known issues: No title (will furnish a signed and dated Bill of Sale at time of transfer or full payment) Small crack in windshield Cold natured (carburator needs to be rebuilt) Tires do not match up (see photos, rt. rear is a street tire) ***The buyer agrees to complete the purchase as per the enclosed terms and conditions at the end of this auction and by bidding on this item also enters into a legal and binding contract to purchase this vehicle. The buyer also agrees to assume any risk or liability associated with the operation and use of this vehicle. On Oct-18-11 at 16:46:28 PDT, seller added the following information: After some further research on this jeep I have concluded that it is a 1946 Civillian Jeep that has been converted into a "Military Replica" It appears that someone moved the spare tire mount from the side to the rear and also changed the windshield to possibly a 1948 or 49 windshield. Other than that it seems to be period correct and will make someone a fine vehicle for parades, veterans post, or local shows and exibits. The gun alone cost me over $2,000.00 to replicate,(the barrel is authentic 50 cal.) The jeep does have a few small issues but nothing which prevents it from being driven and shown. It is in over all very good mechanical condition and never fails to crank and get you where you need to go. If you are looking for a museum quality jeep then you will be paying much more for it than this one and what parade crowd can ever tell the difference anyway. This Jeep is very well worth what it takes to own it. Don't let it get away over a few dollars. You just don't find many in this condition for an afforable price. It is being sold in "AS-IS" Condition. Thanks for looking, and Good Luck!!
