I am selling my RARE numbers matching early 1976 L-82 corvette with wide ratio manual transmission. Yes there is a difference between the Early 76 and the 76 production cars. The car has just over 101,000 miles on it with only about 5,000 miles on the rebuild engine. The engine was rebuilt without boring it. The cylinders were 2/1000th out and you could still see the cross hatching from the original bore. New cam was installed with hydraulic lifters and roller tip rockers. When engine was out the clutch was also rebuilt. I have also had a true dual exhaust installed without converters. Of the 46,558 corvettes in production during the 1976 year 5,720 were L-82 models. Of the 5,720 L-82 models 2,088 had the close ratio manual transmission. That leaves 3,632 corvettes that are automatics or wide ratio manual transmission. Of the 46,558 total 44,470 are wide ratio manual or automatic transmission. Of the 44,470 there are 36,625 or 82.36% are automatics. That leave 17.64% as being wide ratio manual transmission. Now assuming everything is linear that would make 17.64% of the 3,632 automatic and wide ratio manual transmission L-82 models calculated above would be the wide ratio manual transmission. That comes to 641 vehicles. 4,447 of all the 1976 corvettes were the dark brown color. That works out 9.55%. That would mean 61 of the 641 L-82 with wide ratio transmissions are dark brown. Now how many of those 61 are from the early 1976 production, are still numbers matching, and have survived 35 years.
