Following Fiat's departure from the US market after the 1982 model year, a limited number of spiders were imported by an independent company for the 1983-1985 model years. These cars are highly desirable in general, as they feature better build quality and scores of upgrades. The zenith of all spiders came late in 1984, when Pininfarina embarked upon its most ambitious re-design of the spider to date. It invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in the project, with the intention of producing the car into the 1990's. However, after receiving the contract from Cadillac to build the Allante, it became clear that their continued love affair with the Spider would no longer be practical. Consequently, only about 180 of these cars were ever procuced--many of which were sent to the US. The last spider ever built was shipped to the Pininfarina museum in August 1985. The late 85 (sometimes referred to as the 1985.5) featured rack and pinion steering, revised braking, unique wheels, and numerous other detail improvements. It is by far the most rare (and most valuable) spider ever built. It is estimated that fewer than 50 of these cars remain on the road today. This is an original car that has gone through our Roadster Salon shop. It is equivalent to one of our level one restorations. However, it was in near pristine condition when it arrived. It is rust free, and based upon the four 1985.5 spiders that we have sold in the past 20 months, we fully expect it to draw enormous interest. Cosmetic Impressions This incredible car came from the Western US, and was used during the summers only. It was brought to the US by a gentleman in the armed forces stationed in Italy, and stayed in that family until we received the car. As you may know, the clear coat on Italian cars built in the 1980's rarely lasted beyond a few seasons. When it arrived, we were absolutely shocked at how well preserved the original paint was. It was obvious that the only characteristic separating this car from show status were a few weak panels where the car had been buffed too agressively. There was no rust or imperfections that needed attention. We decided due to the car's high value, that it would be appropriate to completely disassemble the car, and attend to the few areas that needed help. The results were spectacular, as most of the original paint was preserved, and the overall impression is showroom new. The interior is equally stunning. We can not think of a single complaint that even the most fastidious buyer would have. Convertible top, carpets, console door panels and deck have all been refreshed. This is a terrific example. A+ Mechanical and Driving Impressions When starting a restoration, it is always a plus to start with a solid car. There was so little to attend to mechanically, it almost seemed a shame to pull it apart and replace our standard items. Engine, transmission, brakes are all in top condition. No strange creaks or rattles. Very solid overall. Once again, a tremendous driving experience. We personally took the car on a 200 plus mile test drive and it never faltered. We love this car! Market Value Roadster Salon level one restorations of standard spiders typically range from $15,000-$17,500. The 1985.5 model is an entirely different animal. For example, last year we saw a 150K mile parts car sell for over $6000. The average selling price of the four completed 85.5 cars by our sister company sold in the last two years is around $20,000. For comparison, none of these cars were in Azzurra blue (signature color), and none of the 5 speed cars had lower original miles. Please note these comparables do not include the $35,000 level 2 car sold recently, or the 4K original mile show car recently offered for $50,000. The market continues to appreciate on these rare and lovely little cars. They are becomming virtually impossible to find, especially in this condition. A New Way to Buy Pre-Owned Luxury Cars

Buying a car at a dealership can be daunting. High pressure salespeople.
Limited selection.Adversarial negotiations. Not much fun.

But buying a car on the internet has its own unique challenges. The most
obvious concern is an online shopper's inability to test drive and evaluate
the car in person. While internet pricing can be attractive, some feel that
the unknowns outweigh the benefits. Horror stories about flawed vehicle
histories, incomplete documentation, misrepresentations, selective
disclosure, and title problems make many potential buyers cringe.

The

independently evaluating each automobile submitted to us, and determining
whether it meets our rigid standards. We then act as a liaison between
customer and dealer to facilitate the fairest possible transaction to all
parties concerned. Our commitment to complete customer satisfaction is

Internet Marketing Philosophy

In our changing marketplace, internet sales have become a vital component to
every dealer's sales profile. The internet provides us with a low cost venue
to sell select inventory at near wholesale prices without compromising the
resources of a dealer's retail sales operation.

Internet car sales can take several forms, such as online classifieds and
auctions. The most popular, and arguably the most challenging, is Internet
sales. Our listings are generally offered on-line between five and ten day
time frames. We design marketing solutions for dealers who need to move
vehicles quickly off of their lots. Ultimately, the dealer has the final
word on pricing, and which internet venue best suits their needs.

LCW and our affiliates have represented over 1000 fine automobiles on the
internet during the past five years. The vast majority of these vehicles
were sold without the buyer seeing the vehicle prior to his commitment. How
was this possible? Our success can be directly attributed to our unique
ability to evaluate inventory with consistency, insight and professionalism.
This talent extends beyond our hands on assessment of a vehicles cosmetic
and mechanical condition. It also includes our research of various data
bases to determine past road history and service records. More than half of
the vehicles we are asked to represent are rejected immediately because of
obvious defects or concerns. An additional percentage fails to make the
final cut following our research history.

LCW randomly collects and studies data from past internet transactions. We
have surveyed customers about their online experiences. Direct interviews
and focus data are also compiled in an effort to better understand the
Internet consumer. We have worked tirelessly to upgrade and improve our
services, from the way our vehicles are screened and selected for Internet
sale, to delivery and aftercare procedures. The lessons learned are
insightfully applied to our Internet Marketing Program.

Only the most fully sorted pre-owned vehicles in our inventory are presented
through our Internet marketing program.

In conclusion, regardless of venue, it all comes down to the quality of the
inventory represented. While cliché, you can never pay too much for a great
car. It also follows that a bargain price does not assure satisfaction.
