Vehicle Detail

I purchased this car with the intentions of keeping it. I have always wanted a "barn find" Well this was mine. This is a 1985 Chevrolet IROCZ that I purchased off the original owner back in May. The car had not seen daylight in 20 years. It sat in his garage, then sat in a storage unit where I found it. It still had the original Goodyear tires on it. This car still wears the original paint with no signs of repair anywhere. It still had the brake rotor retainers on it when I took the wheels off. It is truly a time capsule.I have all the dealer paperwork, warranty cars, copy of the original title, warranty repair orders, owners manual, build sheet, spare set of keys and even the key chain that GM gave you when you bought the car so if you lost your keys you could put them in the mail box. I even have the car for the original sales man. Work has been slow, and thus the reason I have decided to sell it. Rather than be that guy that holds onto a car for years and does nothing with it, I would like to think this will go to some one who will appreciate it as I do. I'll list the problems with the car first, non of which are major. This isnt a 100% perfect museum piece, I know how everyone likes to nit pick. The AC does not work, its low. Thats as far as I got with it. The car has the typical valve seal smoke on start up. After it warms up it gets better. I have not driven this car more than 1/4 of a mile. It smokes a little at an idle, but seams to clear it self up after a while, again, I have only idled this thing and drove it up and down the street, as this was my project. Driver side mirror has a crack Driver side door handle rattles, the retainer that holds the spring is broke, works just fine, looks just fine Passenger side mirror has some paint fading Both belt moulnings are pretty cracked up The front lower chin spoiler has the common curb rash, not horrible, but its there. The rear bumper has a crack and spidering on the left corner, see the picture. I didnt want to repair it because its original only once. The center caps on the passenger side are missing the top cover, There are some chips here and there, a minor ding in the center of the hood near the nose, again its only original once. It will leave a small spot of oil when it sits for a while, coming from the rear of the engine. Not sure exactly where. Not huge, but its there. There are two small burn marks on the front driver seat, previous owner was a smoker The steering wheel shows wear, apparently the prior owner like to hang on. The Z28 badge is missing on the driver side rocker panel If you are still reading then you are still interested, and now the good stuff. As I said I was going to keep this so I started to clean it up and make it driveable. The car has 4 new calipers, two front flex lines, and the original rotors cut. Brakes are good now. 4 replacement tires were sourced, has good rubber The plugs and wires were changed out Fuel filter, oil filter, and transfilter were changed, along with the fluids. Air filters were changed Cooling system has been flushed, and the electric fans work as they should. I put a new headliner in the car as that was the only bad part of the car The interior was detailed accordingly. The exterior was buffed and waxed, this car still has the original single stage finish on it and it looks fantastic. There is absolutely no rust on the car, the floors, fenders, doors, hatch are clean as can be The car idles well for a TPI, idles better than most Ive had. The transmission works through the gears, I did drive it briefly to verify that it works. This car only has 44,362 miles, was one owner, with all the paperwork, in what I feel is the best color combo they made in 85. This car sounds good, looks good. I dont know what else to say. This is something that you dont find everyday. This is a car that needs very little. It is a true survivor without the hefty survivor price tag, and with all the paperwork makes for an interesting story as well. I am listing this at no reserve, I also have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. Also if you have any questions, please feel free to ask before you bid. I have more pictures than Ebay will allow, and will not hesitate to send them if you need them. I can arrange storage if you are unable to pick up right away, if this is something you feel you will need please let me know ahead of time. Please, if you have no intention on paying for this, don not bid. It just makes for an annoying experience. I have tried to disclose as much about the car that I know, again this car sat 20 years prior to me finding it, and I have not driven it on the street yet. So I would suggest you trailer or tow it back. Good luck
