Vehicle Detail
This vehicle was recently purchased and is a classic example of early Dodge 4 X 4 durability. An ex fire department support vehicle it has been carefully maintained. With only 31,653 ORIGINAL miles it is an excellent truck for the collector or 4 X 4 enthusiast. All boxes on the utility bed lock and are in good shape. The bed has been sprayed with a protective coating. It is an automatic with 8 cyl engine (I will add more pictures and details on motor). It comes with original manual, warranty papers, maintenance records and inspection certificate from 2003 with mileage reading of 31,647 which means it has been sitting all that time! When I picked it up we put a battery in it and it fired right up. It was trailered from Oklahoma City to Houston where it is now. Engine is strong and it runs and handles well. I have purchase rear taillights for it but have not put them on. Comes with a pintle hitch. Interior is in excellent condition including headliner (more pictures to follow). There are three small dents one in the chrome on the grill, one on the bed behind the cab window and one by the driver door. The front bumper is painted black but has excellent chrome under it. Everything is tight and it looks and runs like a truck with 31,000 miles on it. I need a work pickup but this one is just too clean to turn into a work truck. I don't want to put any miles on it and I can't afford to make it a collector piece so I have to part with it. It is such a great truck it needs to go to the right home. I will be glad to answer any questions and provide more pictures upon request. I will also be glad to help arrange shipping. $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end and remainder upon your inspection and approval. Update: The engine is a 5.9 litre (360 cubic inch) and is very strong. All I have done is spray the dust off of it. I am doing a complete fluid exchange this week as well as draining the gas tank. The more I write about this truck the less I want to sell it. I have added 9 new pictures. Update: I have had some questions about the condition of the motor and if there is rust above the windshield so I added a couple of pictures of the windshield. There is no rust. What you see is the gasket getting dry and some paint and residue. I think this truck was green before it was painted red. The inside of the hood and trim on the interior is a dark green. If you look closely at the gasket above the window you will see some slight overspray from the red paint and I think the white you see is primer. As far as the engine goes, there are two pictures, one from either side. The hoses, wires, belts, etc are in great shape. No leaks and cracks. There is no engine noise (ie noisy, sticky valves, knocking etc) just a deep throaty rumble like a mans truck should sound like. When I cleaned off the engine I just used a water hose, no pressure washer so what you see is the actual condition of the engine. I have not prettied it up for the picture. I was amazed when I took off the air filter lid to see a new air filter and absolutely no buildup of laquer or carbon on the carb. Another question was what are the toggle switches for? I would assume it would be for the light bar. You will see a green wire going down to the boot of the 4wd shifter that is a ground wire coming from a harness under the dash. I tucked the harness up under the dash to take the picture. Looking at a picture of the bed you will see some brackets that would have held a light bar. There were no holes drilled in the roof of the cab although there is a wire coming up from the passenger side that has a connector clip on it. Thanks for looking, and again, shoot me any questions.
