Vehicle Detail

Up for offer is my beautiful 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo. I am re-listing this car since it failed to meet reserve the first time I placed it up for auction. This time around, I'm offering it as a "Buy it Now" listing instead. I purchased this car three years ago from the original owner, with just over 50,000 miles. The history report will show three owners because the original owner first had it in his company's name and later transferred it to his own. In three years, I have only driven this car about 5,000 miles, mostly using it to attend car-related events and for pleasure drives. This car has always been adult driven, never raced and kept in a garage. What I really like most about this particular 944 Turbo is that it comes with what I consider to be all of the essential factory sport options that were offered for the year: Fuchs 7 & 8 x 16" forged alloys in outstanding conditionLimited-slip differential w/trans coolerPartial leather factory sport seatsM484 suspension option w/factory Koni Sport Yellows In addition to the above, this car also has the factory alarm, rear wiper which is currently removed and blanked-out with a very nice plug machined from billet aluminum, and more. While not show car perfect, this car looks very nice indeed, even winning a 1st place ribbon in its class at a PCA event (people's choice, not professional judging) that I attended a little over a year ago. I have added a few things to it that I consider improvements, but the originals will be included with the sale should you choose to switch back. Among the upgrades are: Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel w/Porsche logo horn button in superb, like-new cond.Momo Short Anatomic shift knob and Momo leather boot - also superbAutothority Stage II chip setBoost Enhancer valve15mm Techart spacers on rear wheels to better fill the arches26.9mm front and 19mm adjustable rear M030 sway bars with Heim-jointed drop links in the rearClear front turn signal lensesNearly new (about 400 miles) Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires in the original correct sizes and speed rating Condition: Exterior: The paint is beautiful with a couple of rock chips that the previous owner attempted to touch-up. There is also a mild indentation on top of the right front fender, as if a mechanic may have leaned on it. Both issues were there when I bought the car but don't really deter the car from looking fresh and nearly new. All glass looks fantastic. The only flaw I can even find is a nick on the windshield the size of a pin point. There are no scratches at all on any of he glass and I just recently replaced the original wiper blades. All rubber is in great shape with only the driver's side window rubber starting to crack since it was probably used most. All plastic and lenses look like new. Interior: The interior looks extremely nice. There is a very small spot on the driver's seat bolster that has wear from getting in and out. It was on there previously and it hasn't really bothered me. This is a common wear spot on sport seats. The carpeting can't be told from new, even around the pedals. The dash is crack-free and there are no unsightly scratches or wear spots to be seen. Even the rear jump seat fabric is still tight and like new. The clock works but the LCD display has become delaminated. There's a kit available to fix it. Also, the turn signal doesn't self-cancel on left-hand turns. There is a small area on the passenger side seat at the leg bolster where the leather has separated at the stitching. It isn't normally visible and you nave to spread the bolster to find it. Really, I'm nit-picking because even if you are fussy, I think you will be very happy with the condition of the interior. Engine Compartment: While everything is fine and original other than the boost enhancer, the engine compartment can use a good detailing. Plus, the original foam hood liner was breaking-up so I used a strong shop vac to remove most of it. Everything under the hood is fine but will need some elbow grease if you want to show it off. Mechanical: The car runs, stops and shifts great. It has very good power on boost and generally feels great to drive. While I believe the clutch to be original, it feels perfectly fine. I installed a new correctly sized Sears International battery about one year ago. I also changed the timing, balance shaft, and accessory belts when I bought the car. There is an oil leak. While I haven't found time to get in and have a look, I suspect that it's seal related. The car wasn't driven by the original owner for some time before I came along so it wouldn't be unusual for the original seals to leak a bit. This car is very nice and is probably much nicer that you'd expect to find at this price, especially optioned the way it is. I am reluctantly selling it to make space as my kids start to drive, and require cars of their own. I consider my Buy It Now price to be very reasonable for the fine condition of this car. As with any 25-year old car, this is an as-is sale but I encourage any and all questions prior to buying. I will gladly take additional close-up photos of any areas you would like, and I will provide copies of the original window sticker and any service records that I have. Ideally, I would prefer that the buyer or a buyer representative inspect the car personally before buying so that you purchase with confidence. I require a $250.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit within 24 hours of the winning bid, with full payment due within 7 days and/or before title transfer. Anyone interested in discussing this car may feel free to reach me at: (863) 602-5826. Thank you for your interest in my car.
