Excellent condition 1988 Land Cruiser - I searched for well over a year to find a truck in this great a condition when I originally bought it. Extremely low miles for this year - there's a big difference between this truck and the others I see listed that are pushing 200K miles. I bought this in spring 2008 with about 99K and I've driven it about 4,000 miles each of the last 3 years as my second car and its been 100% dependable - more reliable than my other (much newer) cars. When I bought this truck 3 years ago I had my long-time mechanic go through it end-to-end and replace anything that needed it to make it as reliable as new. I would hop in this truck tomorrow and go anywhere with zero worries. Cruises down the highway at 70 mph with no problem. Excellent mechanical condition - needs nothing. Engine compartment looks just like it did the day it rolled off the Toyota assembly line. Professionally maintained with all maintenance done as prescribed by Toyota. No expense spared to keep this truck in near new condition. Bone stock - tires are about the only thing that's not stock (and they've got about 12K miles on them and are in excellent condition). 4X4 works great. Never off-road since I've owned it (and I suspect never before that) but I do engage the transfer case and 4-wheel drive once a month to make sure they're in good working order. Exterior is in excellent condition. The body has no rust. This car spent the first 20 years of its life in New Mexico with a retired snowbird couple that only spent ~4 months per year out West (thus the low mileage). The original owner passed away in 2007 and I bought it from his estate the next year. Original paint with a few very minor knicks/scratches, but its as good as you'd ever expect from a nearly 25 year old vehicle. The undercarriage has very minor surface rust on a few places - light surface rust only. The truck has been in Chicago for the last 3 years - always stored in a garage and put away each year on Thanksgiving weekend and not driven again until at least 3-4 Spring rains have completely washed all the salt off the roads. Interior is all original, dash is in great condition, no cracks, very clean. Everything works - ice cold A/C, all lights, all guages, original radio - everything. This truck has the very desirable manual windows - 100% reliable and nothing to break. There is a crack along the bottom of the windshield - its been there since I bought the truck, but it is out of the sight lines, so I left it alone and it hasn't created any problems at all. Original Toyota tool kit and jack are complete and look as good as new. Have original Toyota keys and Owner's Manual. TERMS: a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is required 24 hours after auction end if prior arrangements have not been made between us and payment in full within 5 days after that - cash or verifable cashier's check only.
