Vehicle Detail

An excellent example of a well-maintained and garaged BMW with great paint/interior/mechanicals. Bought it in Calif. (sold new there, and lived there till I bought it= NO rust) and got in and drove to Denver almost non-stop at 70 mph in CC. Used no oil and got 33 MPG with no problems. BMWs, well maintained, provide good transportation for a very long time. All evidence pointed to the previous owner garaging the car and maintining it well, and then he sold it to his son so it stayed in the family. Since the seller had already changed the oil/filter, I did that as well upon reaching Denver (and added air-filter too). Since it was now my daily driver it was garaged/maintained here as well as it was in Calif. It does have upgrades but they are both tasteful and un-boltable shoud you not like the wheels or exhaust. NEW this year:........ Sears diehard// Serpentine belt and AC belt/ 4 tires-wheels 17s// brakes// FF stainless exhaust// wiperblades (3) SERVICE this year: trans svc=filter, drop both pans, new fluid-gaskets// diff svc=flush, refill// 4 oil filter svcs// wash-wax etc CAR HAS............... elec sunroof// tinted windows// BMW 8-cd player// BMW 12 preset radio// 1-touch windows// rear wiper and RWD// MSW// air cond// CC// heated mirrors// remote lock and alarm and both keys. When I prepare to drive any of my cars, I do something that my Dad (and Mark Donahues book) recommended: I start it and turn on the AC (or heat, depending on season) and let it cool the interior (or warm it) 2/3 minutes. So when I get in the oil is up to all the bearings and the interior temp is right for me. Worked since that first 49 Merc flathead so....My Ex spoke harshly regarding my thorough maint. of our vehicles but they all worked better (and lasted longer) than she did so....The cost of clean oil/filter is way less than a replacement engine. I take good care of my cars and my 100% feedback rating reflects the above. I recently drove it to Bonita Spgs. Florida and back, once more it did 33 MPG at 70 in CC and had no problems for the entire 4,400 miles. A good solid car with lots of miles left in it. CAR COMES with original wheels (steel), both owners manuals, 4 magazines with original road tests of 318 TIs, folder of receipts-warrenties. almost forgot, PM and PS GOOD stuff, see above BAD STUFF...cannot get the 8-CD player to work, its a BMW item so....but the BMW radio is fine. I am selling to buy a 67 Mustang convert, easier to get in/out of at my (70yrs) age. You can fly in and drive home, I will meet you at the airport with a full tank and point you in the right direction....or work with your shipper. Send me any questions? And please remember you are buying a car, not the right to kick tires and haggle, your deposit is NON-refundable. Please do not waste my time or yours? On Sep-26-11 at 14:16:34 PDT, seller added the following information: per the question about handling with the larger wheels-tires: I now love two-lane off ramps (or even one-lane if no cars are in front of me), with the already very-good BMW suspension setup, the larger tire footprint lets me swoop right past other cars with no drama. The cornering ability has been enhanced to a large degree. That said, the acceleration has been reduced a little by the taller tires (but at my age.....a moot point) even as they enhance MPG and cornering. per the question about adjustable steering wheel: No. And I forgot to mention that I had bought an excellent leather elbow-pad (right elbow) lid from a wrecked 318 but have not installed it yet, that will be for the new owner. On Sep-26-11 at 20:22:56 PDT, seller added the following information: per the question about Opening RearWindows: yes (but I never have felt the need)On Sep-28-11 at 12:34:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Opps, my bad, the last question asked made me go back and reread the ad. I made it look like (car comes with...) the car comes to you with the original steel wheels on it......NO..... the car is sold exactly as it is seen in the pics, the original steel wheels might be useful for snow-tires or whatever, and they do come with the car. SorryOn Sep-29-11 at 07:17:02 PDT, seller added the following information: per the question about Cracks in the dash or rips in the upholstery: No, None, and even the steering wheel leather is blemish-free. Germany builds solid cars with great materials. On Oct-01-11 at 07:41:16 PDT, seller added the following information: OK GENTLEMEN, THIS IS LOW AS IT GOES, a BIN price of $4,150. and a reserve of $3,800. If it does not sell then I will simply buy the snows and sell the Miata (a limit of two garage spaces and three cars), so get off the fence or forever wait for a lesser car!
