1969 PONTIAC FIREBIRD PROJECT Original numbers matching ( engine & rear end ) factory air car. The 2 sp powerglide was replaced with a rebuilt 350 Turbo that has less than 3000 miles on it. 350 2 bbl , Auto Trans,Power Steering ( fact ),FACTORY AIR ( not connected ) ,Power Brake Booster ( non - fact ) ,Headers , Flowmaster Exhaust . This was a father / son project that was sidetracked by video games :( . This car has 68K + original miles. Originaly a PA car , made in Lordstown. The good : The rear shackles , leaf springs were replaced .Starts and runs great but has an exhaust leak after the headers.Rebuilt tranny w/ oil cooler.Minimal amount of bondo. The bad : The power steering box has a leak right above the header.....I have not driven it for this reason , and don't want to fix it , but it could be a fire hazard.The floors could use replacement , They are not gone , but there is a 3-4" hole in one ...I have the new panels ... never installed.It could use a paint job .... the backyard job on this should have been a lot better for what I paid. I have new underlaminate and carpet for the car , as well as door / window molding. 2 rear and 3 front bumpers. The stock headers , valve covers and carb housing. The other 2 Fact wheels and some odds and ends . This car is 99% original but , as stated , a project. A rough diamond with lots of potential. This is not the best out there , but it's far from the worst. It has the typical rust from a 40+ year car in the midwest. Still VERY solid , but some attention is needed if you want to restore this gem.As far as I can determine , I am the 2nd owner of this car. Ask questions BEFORE you make an offer. There may be some slight rust under the rear window but , without removing the vinyl top , I can't be certain. As I rub my fingers along it , I can feel a few SLIGHT bumps.
