Vehicle Detail
You'll want to own this American classic and drive it daily! Wave to everyone honking and giving you the thimbs up. I purchased this beautiful '71 Stingray in April 2007 with 112,980 miles on it. Since then I’ve only put 3,017 miles on her for a total of 115,997 actual miles. It has never seen rain and been garage kept. The previous owner kept it garaged and covered. He purchased it for his wife in 1984, and soon thereafter began a total frame off restoration, which was completed in '86. The company that performed the restoration was Auto Restorers, Inc. in Haleyville, AL. I have all receipts and pictures of the entire restoration. The numbers matching, factory 350 Chevrolet engine (serial# 3970010) was rebuilt, balanced and blue-printed in ‘84, and currently has under 21,000 actual miles since restoration. She runs great and has removable t-tops, removable back windshield, automatic transmission, disc brakes, telescopic-power steering, heat and air conditioning (presently not working), AM-FM radio, all factory gauges, rally wheels, leather seats, runs and drives great! A video of her resides at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9mqwO-Inog To my knowledge, she is bone stock except for the air cleaner, valve covers, 4 core radiator, 5-blade radiator fan (Vettes tend to run hot, but not this one), and 3-point seat belts. The brakes, tires, and carburetor all have less than 2500 miles on them. I’m pretty sure the factory seats were vinyl and have been replaced with leather. There are a few minor chips in the paint and a noticeable spiderweb in the fiberglass that I took pictures of to show. In the spirit of full disclosure, I’m doing my best to describe the car's exact condition. The door jam near the vin number plate has a small rust spot. The valve cover gasket is seeping a little oil. The A/C was repaired during my ownership and has since failed again. However, the complete compressor and hoses are all there. I think it just needs to be reacharged, but haven't attempted it. The chrome on the bumpers is impeccable. The rally wheels are pristine! I’m starting this auction with a minimum bid of $13,500 and I expect she'll go for much more than that. This American classic is available for viewing by appointment only in Northern Virginia. It is for sale locally and I reserve the right to close the auction early if it sells. I'll be happy to answer any questions. A $1,000 deposit via paypal will be due at end of auction within 48 hours, the balance will be due within 7 days in the form of certified funds or cash. No exceptions. Buyer is responsible for shipping and/or picking up the vehicle. You'll enjoy driving and have a lot of fun with her. I have. Grant (703)855-4053
