(westfalia ) This bus was converted when new with the KK conversion. It was a more expensive alternative to purchasing a westfalia from the dealer. This bus still has its original Bahama blue and white paint. It is has many little chips , 2 dents , and a few dings but otherwise is in great shape for its age. The nice thing about having a car with original paint is that you know it was never in a major accident or had body repair due to rust. Very solid underneath with only a few minor rust spots. Both front fender well front corners at the bottom have rust spots. Behind the front wheel above the jack support, and an area in the passenger side rocker. Otherwise solid as you can see from the pictures. This bus has 80,000 original miles and runs excellent. We recently serviced the engine and transmission. The 78 and 79 VW's are the most desireble due to the larger engine and maintnence free hydraulic lifters. The 4 speed transmission shift smoothly. Brakes work great, much better than the older busses as this one has power assist and discs up front. Interior is in Alright shape, overall clean but with many defects from age. Dash is really nice with only one small hairline crack. Upgraded with a cd player and boston acoustics speakers. Pop Up top is nice, but has a few tears in the screen. ((you can still zip up the windows and there are no holes.) Awning is intact but is very brittle and should be replaced with new material. All the interior lights work but I have not attempted to start the stove, sink, or fridge. The roof has a rack for a solor panel that the previous owner had installed. It has wiring running up to the roof but the panel and batteries were removed. All gauges and dash light work as well as the wipers, turn signals, etc. This is a great running and driving bus that with a little cosmetic attention could be super nice. 1978 Kaliforna Kamper. (westfalia ) This bus was converted when new with the KK conversion. It was a more expensive alternative to purchasing a westfalia from the dealer. This bus still has its original Bahama blue and white paint. It is has many little chips , 2 dents , and a few dings but otherwise is in great shape for its age. The nice thing about having a car with original paint is that you know it was never in a major accident or had body repair due to rust. Very solid underneath with only a few minor rust spots. Both front fender well front corners at the bottom have rust spots. Behind the front wheel above the jack support, and an area in the passenger side rocker. Otherwise solid as you can see from the pictures. This bus has 80,000 original miles and runs excellent. We recently serviced the engine and transmission. The 78 and 79 VW's are the most desireble due to the larger engine and maintnence free hydraulic lifters. The 4 speed transmission shift smoothly. Brakes work great, much better than the older busses as this one has power assist and discs up front. Interior is in Alright shape, overall clean but with many defects from age. Dash is really nice with only one small hairline crack. Upgraded with a cd player and boston acoustics speakers. Pop Up top is nice, but has a few tears in the screen. ((you can still zip up the windows and there are no holes.) Awning is intact but is very brittle and should be replaced with new material. All the interior lights work but I have not attempted to start the stove, sink, or fridge. The roof has a rack for a solor panel that the previous owner had installed. It has wiring running up to the roof but the panel and batteries were removed. All gauges and dash light work as well as the wipers, turn signals, etc. This is a great running and driving bus that with a little cosmetic attention could be super nice.
