Vehicle Detail
To the people waiting for more info I went to the car and this is my more thorough evaluation. I believe underneath is very rusty and you should consider all points needing replaced such as floors spring perches and frame rails unfortunately I never noticed the rockersbut just to be safe you should assume they need replaced and then maybe pleasantly surprised. On the bright side the motor does turn over using a 1/2 inch ratchet and cheater bar and then I was able to just use the 1/2 inch ratchet and socket to turn it over and since all the belts are still on the motor it turned over everything including the overhead cam. The other good news is the trunk is in very good condition all the way out and through the turndowns and I see no rusthrough anywhere out to the rear bumper, amazing concerning the underside of the car, just look at the trunk pictures. Sorry I cannot answer all e-mails individually but this is all the info I have at this time. I did notice that the power seat rails looked to be in very good condition and although the switch bezel is a bit rough all the paddles seem to operate and all the wires are intact. I have not noticed any sidecovers that this bezel would have been attached to. The motor has arusty glaze to it but it looks to be very mild surface rust and should be a very good used part. I.believe this to be a Pontiac Firebird Sprint but please determine that for yourself as I am not positively sure. I have a clear title in my name for this car. This car has been relieved of quite a few parts over the years but still retains a few desirable parts as it has both bucket seats and the driver seat is even a factory power bucket seat and I have had a question to whether this is actually original and I cannot verify that it is but I would be extremely surprised if it is not and of course the Pontiac guys know this was an option on the Firebirds and I personally being an early Camaro guy had absolutely no idea these were available.and the console is complete although in rough condtion and the factory steering wheel which I believe was also used in the GTO is in very good condition with no noticeable cracks and just needs thoroughly cleaned or lightly reconditioned. The dash and instrument panel will have to be replaced. The bottom rear seat is missing and I will be removing a rear side panel, the seatbelts, and the driver front rally wheel for personal use, this will have wheels and tires all the way around to load it.. Although I have not checked the numbers I believe the motor is original as I bought this from an older gentleman who rebuilt it years ago. Again I cannot verify this but believe it to be true. I have not had it running but it appears to be correct right down to the carburetor. The transmission is still in the car and the shifter is missing and the drive shaft is missing. It is also missing the trunk hinges. The doors are very salvageable and seem to be the poorest reproduction part available so that is a plus. All the side glass is good. Personally I would not find this interesting if not for the unusual motor which according to the previous owner was very powerful and is certainly unique. I urge you to ask all questions before bidding as this is very difficult to describe and be assured this is definitely a very difficult project.. The cowl tag reads ST69 22337 LOR541479 208 73-B 03-B I also have the keys for the trunk and the ignition.
