Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a one owner MG TF 1500 according to the previous owner. The paint, while chipped here and there and rubbed through by too many polishings appears to be completely original. It is not show quality, but it is in survivor class quality. Still brings lots of looks and positive comments. The vinyl interior/carpeting also looks to be original, but could have been replaced a long time ago. Still in good shape with no tears or problems. Chrome is also original looking and no pieces are missing. Doors close and lock but have a slight sag when opened. Needs hinges to be adjusted after 56 years of opening and closing. An original heater is installed and plumbed into the heating/cooling system. Good for those cool evenings with the top down and the side curtains off. By the way, the top is non existent but the bows are there and in great condition. Side curtains show their age but are functional and are stored in the rear compartment. There have been a few recent improvements. I installed a brand new water pump. No leaks and no overheating. I also installed a brand new SU fuel pump. Pull the choke out and the car starts on the first pull. The engine is a 1500. The rarest of all MG TF's. Better power than the 1250 MG TF. Engine has an alloy valve cover and an alloy side cover. It has been converted to electronic ignition(contained within the distributor cap) with a hi performance coil. Mileage is unknown and I can't represent what it really might be after 56 years. The lack of rust and overall condition suggests that it is low.Tires have a few miles on them, but are still very usable. Exhaust system is new, no leaks and is nice and quiet. Purrs like an MG should. The MG is sold with a bill of sale as Connecticut does not issue titles on vehicles over 25 years of age. This is important if you are an out of the country buyer. No problem for other states as a quick vin inspection satisfies the DMV.I own another 1955 MGTF that is being restored and funds are needed to complete that project. This is a great opportunity to buy an unmolested original car which can be kept in its current condition or restored over time. I bought it with NO intent of restoring it as I really liked the originality.Prior to bidding, make sure you have the funds, your significant others approval, and are prepared to pay quickly. Good luck in your bidding.
