How Many Exist Today ? Who Knows ? Some of Cadillac's Most Important Engineering Developments, And Some Of Its Most Beautiful Cars, Appeared In The Late 30’s And Early 40s Thanks To The Young William “Bill” Mitchell. New Design Features For 1940 Cadillac Eliminated the Running Boards Widened The Body And Lowered The Vehicle 3 Inches To Give it a Longer Sleeker Look. Another New Design Feature And a First For This Year Was The Hinged Doors And The Fleetwood Built Bodies. Here Are The Specific Details On This Turret Top Sedan Original Factory 346-cid monobloc V-8 With Push Button Start Ignition And 3 Speed Column Shift Manual Transmission. Original Stromberg Carburetor and Air Cleaner Assembly All There But Has Been Sitting Idle Since 2009. She’s Not Running At The Present. Would Require a Weekend Of Tinkering To Fire It Up. Currently Would Require Brake Work As Well. Still Has The 6 Volt System. New Battery Was Installed When it Was Parked in 2009. Incredibly Solid and Straight Body With Barely a Rust Spot On It !
