Very nice example of BMW's first superbike, presented in a the famous Daytona Orange 'smoke' paint job. The machine runs very well (it's still surprisingly fast by today's standards) and has been used sparingly over the years as the mileage is believed correct. Sensible upgrades include dual plug heads, uprated coils and ignition system, Works Performance rear shocks, Telefix front fork brace and non-suicidal side stand. Tires are recently new, brakes fine, lamps and instruments are all functional except the voltage meter reads low - verified by a separate volt meter which showed the voltage to be adequate. The paint looks nice and shiny, however over the years it has accumulated a few minor scratches and chips, the most obvious a scrape on the right side of the tank that occurred while I was doing some maintenance (see photos). Chrome and alloy are still very presentable. Here in Texas we are looking forward to the end of 110-degree days and some mild fall riding weather. This bike would be perfect for fall cruises and rallies. I have owned it a number of years and my reserve is set far below my total investment.
