I'm reposting my Volvo XC after a dealer inspection was done this week. Before anyone bids, I want them to know everything about the car. General overview:- 2002 Volvo XC70 Cross Country (Price new: ~$ 38,000) - About 117,500 miles - Brand new tires (less than 400 miles, see photo link below to see the tread) - Includes Yakima Lockjaw roof rack for two bikes (Price new: ~$400) - Aftermarket bluetooth handsfree stereo unit Vehicle specs: - 2.5L 5-cyl. turbocharged engine - Automatic transmission - Up to 16 city/23 highway mpg - AWD, All-wheel drive - Drivers, Passenger and Side/Curtain Airbags Known cosmetic issues: - Part piece of the glove compartment latch is missing, no effect on use - Small exterior crack at the top of the hatchback, see photos, doesn't leak - Small piece above the drivers side door on the roof where a little paint is coming off (about 2.5" by 0.75"), no rust but it is a little grey Volvo dealership inspection results: - I had the car inspected by the Jackson, MS Volvo dealership on August 25; this is what they found- Choosing to fix this stuff is definitely your call since the car runs like new right now without any changes; if I was going to keep the car, I might change the struts but I'd probably wait a few years before I worried about anything else; keep in mind, these are Volvo dealer prices and brand new parts so if you did a little research it'd probably be easy to cut these in half if not more- If you'd like to see a copy of the full results, just let me know and I'll have the volvo dealership fax it to you 1. Radiator has a minor leak - I top off the reservoir every 3-4 weeks with regular use - They recommended a new radiator ($429 parts, $440 labor) 2. Moon roof does not open and the check airbag light message is constantly on on the dash alert system - They said this was a short in the alarm system and recommend a new alarm siren ($286 parts, $275 labor) 3. The strut mounts (aka spring seats) need to be replaced ($106 parts, $330 labor) 4. New wiper blades are needed on the front and rear ($67 parts, $22 labor) Additional notes (these are based on a lot of questions I got last time I listed the car): - The vehicle runs great; despite the recommended fixes from the dealer, it runs like it's brand new - The vehicle was in a minor fender bender in 2006; everything that was fixed was performed by the Volvo dealer in Savannah, GA; feel free to give them a call if you have any questions about the repairs (912-927-4741); they should be able to pull everything up with the VIN above- I am the third owner of the vehicle; all owners (other than me) have been middle-aged moms; the car has lived its full live in Savannah, GA; I drove it for about three months in Atlanta, GA then took it with me when I moved to Jackson, MS in January; I moved abroad about two weeks ago, so right now the car is with my parents in Jackson, MS; if I didn't move, I would have definitely held onto it- All routine maintenance as recommended by Volvo has been done up until 115,000; this includes replacing the timing belt, which was replaced about 2,000 miles ago for $1600 by the volvo dealer in Savannah - A Sony bluetooth aftermarket sound system is currently installed (including handsfree and an installed mic); however, I'll be happy to throw in the original OEM volvo stereo if you want this instead- If you have any questions about the vehicle's history, I'd recommend calling the volvo dealership in Savannah(912-927-4741); if you have any questions about the inspection that was performed on August 25, 2011, aka yesterday, feel free to call the dealership in Jackson, MS (601-352-2700).
