This is a nice 5 speed, original TR8 with only 60K miles. It drives well, but needs some restoration to regain its deserved glory. This is a California car with NO rust on the body panels! It was owned by a collector (of 20+ cars), who parked it 20 years ago (due to health issues). So after 20 years the oil was changed (+fresh filter), spark plugs cleaned (compression is OK), carburetors rebuilt, fresh antifreeze, rebuilt clutch slave and master cylinders – and the car runs fine, shifts smoothly, and the head lights pop up and work well. Again, we drove it only around the block because it doesn’t have current registration. The top is like new, and the paint is OK for a driver, but there are several small dings (not visible in the photos). No accidents, and the body is straight. Looks like original paint - perhaps there was a light respray? Glass is all OK. Tires were new 20 years ago, but now they are old and must be replaced. Brakes are fine (including hand-brake) but the fluid wasn’t changed yet. The only real eye sore is the driver seat where the bottom fabric is torn (the seat stuck – so this explain how it was torn). Bottom line: This is a bargain for those limited production cars. It is original and ready for an easy reconditioning. With some TLC in can be turned into collector quality (and nice TR8 are fetching north of $15K). This is an old car and sold as is and the buyer is responsible for transportation. For CA buyers: there is a $550 DMV penalty when re-registering the car – and it is sold as a NOP (without a smog test). For shipping purposes - the car is located in San Diego, CA.
