1948 Studebaker Champion Deluxe Convertible Offered for sale is a very rare 1948 Studebaker Champion Deluxe Convertible. This is a fine example of a rust-free California black plate classic. The vehicle is in excellent condition having been restored several years ago. Options include a power top, in line six-cylinder engine, overdrive three speed manual transmission, newer wide white tires, and most original appointments. As far as we can tell, the red on red color combination is correct as original. This Studebaker has been shown several times at the Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance and never fails to bring smiles and lots of attention. Spectators comment that it looks like it just came off of the showroom floor. While not perfect, one can drive this “Baker” with pride as is or do a little detail work to make it a show piece. Going through my file, it looks like the engine was rebuilt approximately 3,000 miles ago, transmisson about 12,000 ago. The overdrive has been inspected and a new solonoid installed recently. The brake system has been inspected and refurbished within the past 500 miles. The original radio is in place but does not work. I have the original side mount antennae but it is not installed.Vehicle is sold as is without warranty. Buyer is responsible for shipping although I will help with arrangements.
