Vehicle Detail
I bought this 1965 Olds from a lady in Vallejo losing there house.... It was her husbands car for 20 plus years and he had the drivetrain out to rebuild it and died of a Heart Attack there after so they are gone. I bought it as a roller and it was stored in a garage for most of that time. I bought it and my best friend wanted it so I let him have it and we started building it. The car was the creamy yellow color from the factory and was not a good look so the car was carefully taken apart bagged and labeled. It went to a local body shop and was stripped down and everything was painted in the trunk in the cab floor boards inner doors ect. 3 gallons of black were shot on the car and then clear on the outside. We let the car sit for 4 months so It would comepletley gas and shrink and then we had it wet sanded and buffed! The paint is waaay above driver and is almost show quality! (i consider show paint 10k plus this paint cost around 4600 dollars) The dash is in excellent condition with everything but the factory radio working. I installed a new ACC molded carpet kit and a Headliner. The door panels and seats were and cleaned and re installed. New weatherstripping was installed as well as new window felts with the correct factory style ones. All the interior lights except glove box light works like sail panel lights and all lights in center console like the shift indicator light and lights on bottom and back of console. tach works but only after engine temp has warmed up. I don't know why this is but as soon as the temp needle goes up the tach comes on..... The wheels are from a mid 70's cutlass they are 15x7 they were sand blasted and painted black and all trim rings inside cleaned and new beauty rings installed, the tires have 5000 miles on the and they are bfg radial t/a 235/60/15 in front and 255/60/15 in rear with kyb shocks all the way around for a really smooth ride. All the chrome down the sides of the body were cleaned hand polished and painted the black inserts. the grille was also cleaned and restored as well as the headlight buckets. the rear panel was replaced because the original one was missing but it is in extra clean shape with no damage. reverse lights lic plate light and all other lights working as well as dummy brake light on dash when the e brake is set. The dash lens is clear and free of scratches or damage. Still has original locks and keys and a extra set of copies made. The engine is a 1971 Ga 455 that was rebuilt rings bearing turn crank head job and block was decked and heads clipped a little for a real 9.1 compression 89 octane friendly. has a small 214 @ 50 cam with about .500 lift. has a clean edelbrock performer intake and a 750 holley carb and the ignition is the original distributor with a petronicks electronic conversion unit in it. The trans is a used th400 with a stage 1 shift kit I got off craigslist with a factory stall speed and fresh fluid works great. The rear end is a chevy 12 bolt rear end with highway gears (cruises 70mph at 2400 rpm) get 12-14 mpg. The exhaust are some older no name headers that are not coated but has new pipes mufflers and tips all the way back 2.5 aluminized system.
