Vehicle Detail

1984 Dodge Colt GTS Turbo - Silver with Burgundy Interior Options: Rear louvers, clock. Also still has the “Don’t step on the gas unless you really mean it” sticker in the rear window. Car is in overall good condition, but like most older cars it needs some attention. I bought this car 4 years ago and had it gone through by a mechanic to identify anything that needed repair. Since then I’ve collected various parts to complete the repairs, but haven’t found the time. In the meantime I also bought another 1984 Colt Turbo (listed for sale is a separate auction). I am now moving on to other projects, so all of my Colt stuff is up for sale. This car does have some rust spots, but it is not bad and nothing is rusted through. The previous owner had started some body work on the passenger rear quarter panel (worst area for rust) which you can see in the pictures. The body is otherwise straight and solid. The car was repainted at some point and the paint is still shiny. The interior is good, but there are some tears in the front seats. The driver’s seat is in rough shape (see picture). The car runs and drives well, but there is smoke from the tailpipe. The mechanic that reviewed the car couldn’t pinpoint the issue other than to identify that it was something internal to the motor. Since I didn’t know what the issue was, I purchased a rebuilt motor with rebuilt cylinder head and a rebuilt turbocharger which are included with the car. The transmission and clutch are good. Both the high and low range work – not stuck in power mode. The tires are old and wider than stock. One of these tires blew out shortly after I bought the car, so there is an unmatched spare on there now. The car has been in storage for the last 2 years and hasn’t been driven, but it still starts right up and idles smoothly. When I bought the car, there was a fuel leak at the injectors and an intermittent starting problem due to a bad knock sensor. This issue has been addressed, but there now appears to be a leak in the rear by the fuel pump (haven’t diagnosed this yet). There are other miscellaneous parts included with the car, such as a rebuilt steering gear, pair of shocks, and various underhood components. Please note that there are no warranties (express or implied) for this vehicle and it is sold as-is. I have done my best to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, but all the information contained in this listing is based on my subjective opinion. Any prospective buyer is encouraged to view the car in person or have a professional review its condition to draw their own conclusions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to arrange a test drive.
