Vehicle Detail
Jump in this sleeper, and off you go. 1968 4x4 International Scout 800 ...with the "doll-up package". It is not the plain jane, it is dolled up from the factory with a list of extras (list included see photo). Including Chrome bumpers and a spare tire carrier on the back, and full width back seat. Dual Fuel tanks, Vinyl door panels (off the doors at this time, but they are there). Why buy a piece of junk you will be working on for months and months, just get in this sleeper and surprise um, with whats under the hood, go have fun. As you can see it is in good condition for it's age, with a few spots of paint flaking off, it has been repainted from the original and was not done very well as you can see in the photos. It has major rust in the drivers floor pans, that will take a bit of work to fix, the passanger side is ok, I have taken pictures from underneath to show the fender wells are not rusted thru..... All the doors open easily and close tight. All the glass is good. It need a bit of TLC, you know, a little this and that, and a bit of spit and polish as they say. (you would too if you were a 43 yrs old 4x4). Nice wheels. Will need tires soon, although I just brought it half way across Oregon and it did just fine. Odometer reading is 21,701.01, to the best of my knowledge that is original miles, but no way to know for sure, as I am not the original owner.......It does have less then 500 miles on it since the 392 V8 engine was put in, (just a good running engine, not new or rebuilt) it replaced the original 266. We have added an Edelbrock carb. it has the T14 3 speed transmission, and a TC145 Transfer Case. It starts right up and runs great. Lots of pep, and sounds awesome. I hate to have to sell it, but I have not been able to use it in a while, and I have some other projects in the works. I am working on a 1971 Nova, and the Scout is not getting the attention it needs. Contact me with any question, Please give it a new home, take it out and have some fun. It has a towbar mounting on the front, I will include the towbar if you need/want to tow the scout behind your motorhome etc. It is located in NEWPORT on the Oregon Coast. I would rather it be picked up at it's present location, but, depending on where you are, I might deliver it for a FEE, Only to WA, OR, ID, or Northern CA. contact me before bidding to discuss details. I have talked to a few transport companies, and the average price for transporting it to the east coast is between $775 to $1,000.00 depending where you live. SERIOUS BIDDERS/BUYER only Please. Bidding is a binding contract. PLEASE, scroll all the way down to see all the pictures. Be sure and read the full description, and look at all the pictures & ask all questions, before bidding.
