2004 VW Phaeton W12 Black with Sonnen Biege interior. Rare car, only 300 W12's. If you have made it this far, then you probably already know what a Phaeton W12 is and all the features it has, so I' not going to go into detail about that. I am a car collector and own over 40 cars. Currently I have three black W12 Phaetons. I finally found a low mileage one (only 55,000 miles on it) that will remain in my collection. My warehouse is full, so one must be sold. Last week, I just sold a E39 M5 and I am getting ready to sell my Brabus SL55 K8 supercar, so keep an eye on my other listings. This is the first Phaeton I purchased almost two years ago. Last year, the car developed a shifting problem and needs a new torque convertor. There is no Certified Phaeton dealer near me. The closest is Jim Ellis in Altanta, about 500 miles from me. For this reason, I have decided to sell the car cheap, at no reserve and let the new owner have it fixed. Buy this car, get it fixed, and save over $5,000. Car can be driven around the world. The problem is that when shifting from first gear into second, it has a light slip. Once is second gear, all other gears shift like a new car. I have taken many long distance trips in this car in this condition. New torque convertor is about $900 and requires about 15 hours labor. Check engine light sometimes illuminates and says something about about a torque convertor malfunction. This was a very common problem in the 2004 W12's. Both of my other two W12's have had the torque convertors replaced. It happened to those at a low mileage while under warranty. I have received many questions about the condition of the transmission. I cannot guarantee that only the torque convertor is bad, could be either or both. On the Phaeton forum, most members usually replace both because it is very labor intensive work. If the repair is done under warranty, VW usually only replaces just the torque convertor. Used low mileage transmissions with torque convertors can be purchased for around $2000~$2500 at www.car-part.comI am the second owner of this car. I never got the car titled in my name, so the next owner will be the official second owner. All service records and clean carfax. Has been sitting in a climate controlled warehouse for over one year. It's time to let somebody else enjoy this beauty. I love these cars and my second W12 is my daily driver. It has 77,000 miles. Interior condition is like new and exterior has two dings on the body. One ding on the left rear quarter panel and the other ding on the right rear door. Paintless dent removal will easily take care of the these two dents. Matching Michelin tires have probably 50% treadwear remaining. Floor mats and rear foot rests, not pictured are in the trunk. Two keys, the spare key is brand new and will need to be coded at dealer before using. Major 80,000 mile service has been done (filters, spark plugs, etc.). Engine oil/filter changed at 84,000 miles. New xenon bulbs recently installed, old bulbs flickered/different colors. Tire pressure monitor light is on. This light is on in all three of my Phaeton's. Probably a faulty sensor in the wheel.
