This 1993 Cadillac Allante is a recent trade-in at our Cadillac dealership.

This Allante was cleaned for this presentation but has not nor will be inspected. It is being sold as-is with no warranty given or implied.

As with most vehicles older than ten years old the title for this Allante is marked as EXEMPT from odometer statement and is sold as EXEMPT.

Independent inspections, prior to sale, are welcomed and encouraged.

This Allante ran and drove well during our test drive.

There may be an aftermarket exhaust or muffler issue.

The air blew cold and all systems seemed to work with the exception of the CD player which shows error and will not accept a CD. The cassette player was not tried.

The passenger side power window works intermittently.

While Allante debuted in 1987, this 1993 version is light-years better than the original in performance, ride, handling and quiet.

The body of the 1993 Allante basically was unchanged, the whole package of Northstar engine, 4T80-E transmission, high-tech suspension and advanced traction control makes this the most sophisticated Cadillac ever offered to the public in 1993.

Performance gets a huge boost in 1993 with the introduction of the 4.6-liter, 32-valve, 295-horsepower Northstar V-8 engine to replace the 4.5-liter, 200-horsepower V-8 of 1992.

The Allante boasts a 0-to-60 m.p.h. timeof 7 seconds and a top speed of 150 m.p.h., and if it weren`t for the rumble sound effects of the exhaust, you probably wouldn`t know the engine was running.

There also is something called ``road sensing,`` which means the suspension ``reads`` the road by measuring the vehicle`s wheel position and body motion. Sensors monitor road conditions to instantly change suspension settings from soft to firm or vice versa.

Traction-control also is standard. That system prevents wheels from spinning and the car from slipping and sliding when it takes off from the stoplight, as the Allante`s anti-lock brakes keep wheels from locking and the car from skidding when it tries to stop at the light.

Add to all this the Allante`s speed-sensitive steering, which varies the amount of steering effort required based on vehicle speed-less effort to pull between those narrow yellow lines at the mall, a bit more to cross the line separating lanes on the interstate.

Another plus is that this convertible doesn`t have blind spots. There are small glass panels behind the driver`s and passenger`s windows; they provide enough of an opening so you can see other vehicles on the side before you change lanes.

The convertible top is semi-powered, meaning it unlocks and locks from the front header when you pull a control knob, but still requires a lift/pull/push routine to get the top down and under the tonneau cover and fasten the latch.

The seats are terrific; they feature adjustable lumbar supports that can be raised and lowered as well as moved in and out.

Every control on the instrument panel--radio, air conditioning and heating, trip computer, windshield washers and lights--is a flat black button similar in size, feel and symbols to its neighbors. There are 52 in all.

An eight-speaker, 100-watt AM/FM stereo radio, cassette and compact disc by GM/Delco/Bose provides fun-in-the-sun entertainment.

The front-wheel-drive Allante offers 16.3-cubic foot trunk.

As a safety feature, the electronic fuel system is set to cut off fuel to the engine at 6,700 rpm. This prevents valve float during which the valves might touch the tops of the pistons.
