Up for sale is a 1970 chevelle ss 396 this is a cranberry red, black strip, black interior car, It was a 350 hp 396 with a turbo 400 auto. It was also a bench seat column shift. The motor blew up and was scrapped along with the trans years ago, The guy I bought it from removed the body from the frame and had it sand blasted and painted. He started reassembling it with new front ball joints,tie rods (etc) and then quit on it. The frame was inside for a number of years but the body was outside, thus the frame stayed nice and the body did not! When I purchased it I was told the 12 bolt rear was a 308 posi but have never removed the cover, I have noticed that when you jack the rear end up the tires do turn in the same direction. The paint on the car is original and so is the interior, both are dirty and moldy. The cowl hood has no damage or rust the chassis is rust free also, the grille,bumpers and head light bezels and trim are also nice and all of the glass is very nice. The body is very bad it would need floor,trunk,quarters,door, skins, rockers and fenders. Its not impossible but it would be a lot of work. The four rally wheels are very nice with nice center caps but the trim rings have some marks in them. The rear window trim is also very nice along with the back seat (still soft no rips) the front seat has a full length rip in the seem on the drivers edge. The steering wheel is incorrect and came out of a camaro. It has drum brakes all the way around and the fronts are new. The car is rough and has been sitting since 1990 but is an original ss and a good color combo. I believe I have priced it low but if for some reason it does'nt sell I will part it.On Aug-10-11 at 15:56:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I just added some pictures of the vin on the drivers door and the cowl and also a couple of the trunk, I deleted them by mistake while I was listing the car. I also had an ebayer question weather or not this is a true ss because it didn't have disk brakes. I don't have a build sheet or protecto plate to prove differently but it has disc brakes, The previous owner had a plain chevelle he was restoring when he bought this one and had rebuilt the front end so he just swaped it over, But the originals are in the trunk. As I said before please ask any questions I do not want to mislead anyone! This thing is ugly. Thanks Dan
