This was the TOP of the line car Pontiac made for that year, basically the same as the Olds Ninety-Eight 98 and the Buick Electra. It has 32,375 ORIGINAL and DOCUMENTED miles and has been very well cared for. The car was purchased new at King Pontiac City in Maryland. In 2007, Mr. Zulick (former owner of Zulick Chevy-Cadillac in central PA) purchased it and later resold to an elderly couple in Houtzdale, PA. The husband passed away, and this was the last of the 7 collector automobiles he owned. I have the original bill-of-sale, owner's manuals, original window sticker, and some correspondence between GM and the original owner. I have documentation since the original owner, including copies of the titles from the 2nd owner through present. The mileage reads as “actual” on the current title. My mechanic went over the car thoroughly and believes the mileage to be 100% true also. This beautiful car stickered for well over $10,000 new! She is dressed with the genuine Pontiac wire wheel covers, fender skirts, 2-tone silver & gray, with contrasting pinstripe. In addition to having the Brougham package, it has quite a number of options, such as power driver’s seat, reclining passenger seat, AM/FM stereo, automatic climate control (which was the most expensive option on the window sticker!), power windows, power locks, 2 speed wipers with intermittent control, cruise control, rear window defogger, and tufted velour interior. The car is absolutely gorgeous. The title is clear and has no liens. The title also documents the original mileage. This is an extremely comfortable car, and the last year of the traditional rear-wheel drive Pontiac without the engine computer…powered by the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 5.7 (350) 4 barrel engine. The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly. Exterior: The paint is a beautiful 2-tone silver and gunmetal gray metallic. The paint is very shiny & brilliant and reflects the fact it was garage kept. It was also treated with a special rust-proof when new which must have helped preserve the rust-free body. The paint is very nice overall…upon very close inspection you will find a few marks/scratches here and there and some age-related imperfections but nothing major. Very beautiful as-is and ready for show!! It does not appear to have been in any accidents…and no evidence of any “orange peel”. The chrome and the stainless steel also shine brilliantly and also in excellent condition. There is no evidence of rust repair or body putty ANYWHERE on the car. I put the car up on a lift and my mechanic was very impressed as to the condition of the undercarriage. Although not detailed, the underbody & frame is extremely solid and in great shape. The underbody is rust free and just like brand new…with very little scale underneath to speak of. I highly doubt it was ever in the snow/salt. I know the car spent most of its life in Maryland, which tends to have better weather than Pennsylvania. I have many more pictures of the car (including the frame/underbody) which I can email upon request. The trunk is also solid and very clean, and of course there is NO rust under the trunk lid. No rust under the doors….or door jambs. The factory wire wheel covers are immaculate. The exterior is absolutely gorgeous and is obvious of the care it has received. In my opinion, the car is ready for the show, just the way it is. Interior: The interior is stunning, including red crushed-velour padded seats (part of the Brougham package) which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car! It was obviously never smoked in. There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere. The dark red carpets are also like new (and very soft/plush), including the original floor mats. The headliner is spotless and does NOT sag. Even the original paper “sleeve disclosure” on the drivers side sun visor is still present….usually the dealer threw these out (see picture). The dash is beautiful and has no fading; however there is a small crack which is barely noticeable around the passenger side speaker. But the dash is like new and the crack is very hard to see unless you look for it. The arm rests are like new. The power equipment goodies all work, except for 2 minor things. First, the clock does not work. Second, the FM stereo has difficulty tuning in, but the AM works great…no problem. The interior is like brand new. Climate control works perfect, including Ice Cold A/C. Power windows are awesome, and move up and down very quickly….faster and better than any of my newer cars. Mechanical: The motor purrs like a kitten and runs like a top. Fortunately, the motor has the optional 350 4 barrel, which is fairly economical, and as mentioned earlier, this was the last year before GM began using a computer to regulate the engine in the full size Pontiacs. The transmission is the heavy duty Turbo 350 Hydramatic, which is a wonderful sturdy transmission, one of the last years before GM began using plastic parts in the tranny. It shifts smooth and the fluid is still pink. I recently changed the air filter, fuel filter, oil and oil filter, and had the cooling system checked and rotated the tires. My mechanic also inspected the hoses and belts. The tires are older but tread is like new…probably 85-90% of new. The spare appears to be original. The jack does not appear to have ever been used. The shocks appear to be original, as well as 3 of the 4 headlights. Believe it or not, despite the age, the shocks still do a decent job of holding the road. The steering/suspension are still tight, evident of the low mileage. The brakes stop smooth and straight. There are no leaks of any kind that I am aware of. There is nothing on my garage floor even after sitting for a week between rides. In fact, my mechanic replaced the main seals because of age-related leaking. The car runs and drives beautifully, just like it was 1979. It is inspected through June 2012. Both my mechanic and I have NO DOUBT the mileage is true…the car is very, very clean. Overall: If you are looking for a spectacular example of the last of the traditional full size Pontiac, this one’s for you. It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you. 1979 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham coupe / Excellent Condition / 32k documented miles / 100 pics
You are viewing a gorgeous 1979 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham coupe.
Exterior:
The paint is a beautiful 2-tone silver and gunmetal gray metallic.
Interior:
The interior is stunning, including red crushed-velour padded seats (part of the Brougham package) which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car!
Mechanical:
The motor purrs like a kitten and runs like a top.

First of all, let me say I am NOT a registered dealer. I am a private individual who enjoys collecting, buying, and selling old cars as a hobby. I may sell a few of my own cars in a year's time, and I also list vehicles for other individuals needing help selling on eBay. I have excellent feedback with the numerous cars I have sold and am committed to honesty and integrity. No monkey business.
This auction is a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. All vehicles are sold as-is unless otherwise specified. I have done my best to accurately describe this vehicle. It is up to the buyer to come see and further inspect the car before the end of the auction.--> On Aug-08-11 at 15:59:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to clarify a couple things since there are a few things you cannot tell from looking at the pictures: First, I took the car to a long-established professional body shop today to get the shop owner's opinion about the car. This guy does concours-quality paint work and has over 25 years experience. I asked him whether he thought the paint was 100% original. He believes it is mostly original but the hood and the passenger side appear to have been repainted. The color match is perfect, and he feels the next owner will be pleased just the way it is. The quality of the work, in his opinion, was very good. The paint on the drivers side, the roof, and the trunk appear to be original. If you know these cars from the late 70's the silver paint rarely held up. That is probably the reason for the hood to have been redone. In fact, I have a mailing from GM to the original owner indicating that many GM cars from this region had paint problems due to weather-related fallout and that GM was fixing these things at no cost. Who knows...maybe this was related and the work was done by the dealer shortly after it was purchased. But the paint is beautiful and well-done and is show-worthy. It does not appear to have been in any accidents, and has NO BONDO or rust repair. I also noticed in very bright light, at a certain angle, you can see some very, very slight fade on the roof, but the roof is still very shiny and has held up well, and in my opinion is still nice enough for show. You would have to look for it with the right angle on a very bright day. Nothing my camera will pick up. There are also a few minor spots of discoloration on the roof which are very difficult to see but can be seen from a certain angle in bright light (maybe from bird droppings??). Believe me, I am really picking this car apart right now....I want to be as up front as I can for the most picky ebayer, but none of these things should scare anyone away. I would rather err on the side of being conservative which is probably unnecessary in this case....just want to make the sure the next guy is happy. I truly do not think the next person will be disappointed. The car is beautiful and I think the pictures I listed tell the overall story well. Second, there are 2 photos of the drivers side lower rear quarter panel, between the body side moldings and the the chrome rocker trim in the rear, which I placed a caption under each picture stating "No scratches here...just reflections of the ground". Well, the first picture having this caption does have a few small paint chips. Very minor in nature, but the chips are nonetheless present. I don't think the camera is picking them up. I tried to change the caption below the picture but eBay will not allow it since there are bids. There is also a light scratch on the passenger side lower rear quarter panel, below the body side molding which again, the camera is not picking up. It might come out with some rubbing...the scratch does not appear to have gone down to the metal. Only minor but I want to make sure I highlight anything one might see upon a close physical inspection since you can't tell from the pictures. If you have any questions or would like additional pictures of anything, please let me know and I will email them to you. I apologize for any confusion.
