I am selling a fully custom 1993 Mazda RX-7 FD with an LS1 5.7L Chevy engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine has CNC ported LS6 heads, LS6 intake manifold and a custom cam. It makes around 450 hp at the crank. It is a more powerful version of the drivetrain that came in earlier Z06 corvettes. Most conversion parts are from Hinson Super Cars (http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/s-2-mazda-rx7-fc-86-92.aspx) including engine mounting kit, headers, cooling system, drivetrain upgrades, etc. The conversion, including a custom drivetrain harness and custom computer tuning, has been done professionally. The car has LS6 CNC ported heads, a 224/224/112 cam, 6-speed with a Pro50 short shifter, mid-length headers, Greddy 3.5" catback, upgraded fuel system (Hinson), upgraded cooling system (Hinson), 4.10 rear gears, limited slip differential (stock), Autometer matching coolant temp, voltage and oil pressure guages. The computer and the battery have been moved into the behind the seat factory storage bins for a better distribution. It also has a battery cut-off switch. The engine (fully rebuild and modified) and a new (when installed) LS7 clutch have only around 5,000 miles on them! The car is a lot of fun to drive and makes over 30 mpg on the highway due to the 6-speed. It is a lighter and a better handling version of a Corvette. The only reason I am selling it is I do not have enough time and it is difficult to keep an extra car in New York. This car has always been garaged and is a summer weekend driver. But I would not hesitate to drive it every day. The interior is in a really good shape except what is described below. The paint is good for an 18 year old car. It has all the available options - leather, moonroof, custom 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear wheels. It has a CD player and 6.5" interior speakers that are a huge improvement from stock 4" ones. The current rear tires are BFG 285/40/18 drag radials that provide a lot of traction. They are fine to drive on in good weather and light rain. But I also include an additional pair matching 18x8" wheels of street tires on them. The car is a project that is 99%. The small things that are left to do are to fix the driver's side door panel. It feels a little lose and the interior door switch does not work. One of the rear storage bins does not close flush. There is no A/C on the car. The reason is the engine compartment is small so some fabrication might be required to install the compressor. There is a marbel size ding on the drive side door that you can see in the pictures. I drag raced the car at the track just to see what power it makes. I did not try to launch hard and was short shifting, but it still was running high 11s/low 12s @ 123 mph with around 2.0 sec 60' times which should translate to around 450 hp. * There is a discoloration on the front fender on one of the pictures. The dent is really small, about .5" in diameter and a couple of millimeters deep. The paint is not affected by it and it is difficult to see in the pictures. You can see it in the picture #4, an inch or so below window glass near the end of the door. It looks like a small reflection of something in the paint. The driver door cannot be locked from the inside probably due to an activator or switch issue. It works perfectly fine from the outside using a key. The car was never smoked in.
