**Taking a HUGE chance here- this is a relist- it did not reach my "reserve price" last time, so in the interest of getting it sold, I have cut my reserve IN HALF. I am pretty sure I will regret this, but I have come to accept the fact that I am going to lose money on this Jeep! I bought it on a whim and realize I won't get my money back out of it. At this point, I guess the ball is in your court- don't miss out on this opportunity to get a classic Jeep at a great price! RARE!!! 1981 Jeep Scrambler in good condition for sale. I bought this with the intention of doing a frame-off restoration, but have now accepted the fact that I will not get around to doing it- my loss can be your gain! This is a Jeep enthusiasts dream! The Scrambler was only produced from 1981-1985, with a mere 27,000 being made. Even rarer is that this one has air conditioning! The A/C works GREAT- I am in Louisiana and use it a lot! This Jeep is in pretty good condition- it just needs a little work- motor starts up every time and runs just fine. 4 speed manual transmission, manual front-locking hubs enable 4WD, removable hardtop and doors, flip-down windshield, AC is cold and heater is hot! It is covered in diamond plate, with the rest being a black "bed liner" type of covering- but the bed liner covering is coming off in places- previous owner didn't do a good job, but it still looks really tough and unique! No visible rust. Like I said, it needs some TLC and someone that will appreciate it for being a classic- it's a perfect project vehicle! That being said, it runs and drives fine- I drive it weekly to keep everything "moving". Known problems: - gas gauge and radio do not work Contact me if you have any questions- thanks for looking! **NOTE- the odometer has not been "rolled back"- I believe the odometer has just rolled over since it was last registered. **NOTE** Odometer currently reads ~6400- I am assuming it has rolled over once, since the Carfax shows the previous odometer reading of 60,000... No odometer "rollback" has occurred!On Aug-03-11 at 13:42:16 PDT, seller added the following information: **Added** Lots of people have been asking about rust underneath the diamond plate. I can only remove the 2 front quarter panels without having to take a lot of other stuff off. The passenger side had some rust underneath, while the drivers side had none. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I am not going to try and deceive anyone here- I will be honest! I'm in the military and integrity is a big deal to me, so ask away!
