You are bidding on a 1938 Buick Special 40 Opera Coupe. I am selling this for my neighbor, so I'm trying to be as accurate as possible with the description and details. He has owned tha car for 12 years. He purchased it from a friend whom owned it for 10 years before that. The owner before that had owned the car for over 30 years and it basically sat in a showroom at an Auto parts Salvage yard for that period of time. That would explain it's rust free condition. This car is a great driver which will give you years of enjoyment. It is an extremely clean original paint car, which runs and drives excellent. It has the original straight 8 motor and 3 speed transmission which appears to have been rebuilt somewhere along the line. It runs great and doesn't burn any oil. The body is in good condition with a few scratches and paint flaws from it's years of service. It has been touched up over the years but is supposed to have most of it's original paint. The back seat was added somewhere along the line. The jump seats no longer exist. This would be a great car to restore back to original or build the street rod of your dreams. Good luck bidding. On Aug-02-11 at 19:08:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is the VIN plate data. Style - 38-4427B, Paint 515, Body - 3208, Trim 401. I believe the paint to be original with some touch ups over the years. It has some minor chipping near the insulator between the fenders and quarter panel. There are also some chips on the headlight buckets. I am trying to download more pics which show the headliner, dash, steering wheel, etc. There is something wrong with Ebay website and it won't let me add the pictures. This is a radio, heater and clock car too. The interior and headliner are also original. This is an unbelievable 73 year old survivor car. You will not find another one like this.
