This two owner 1950 Mercury Coupe is an amazing rust free survivor car with only 37,465 original miles on the odometer. The current owner has put close to $40,000 invested in this car. Here is an amazing opportunity to own a true James Dean style ’50 Merc Lead Sled in great condition. The current owner purchased the car out of Georgia roughly 5 years ago. The car had been owned by the same family since it was purchased new in 1950 in the Houston, Texas area and eventually it moved with them to Georgia. Our client brought this amazing classic back to life through a multi-year restoration effort. This great “ Lead-Sled” boasts new professionally designed and installed interior in a very period correct true hotrod red and white. Since the interior was install only 150 miles have been put on the car. A brand new pioneer stereo system was installed in the glovebox and additional 6x9 speakers were placed in the back. The rear speaker boxes were added as to keep the interior uncut. The body on this amazing classic has always remained rust free and was still in the original paint until 3 years ago. The paint was completely redone, and done correctly, in a 3 stage Deep Black with a hint of Navy Blue metallic flakes. If you are standing close enough and the sun hits the car just right you can see the blue. For the rest of the time you simply see a glistening black. The original numbers matching flat head V8 fires right up and runs flawlessly. The numbers matching 3 speed transmission shifts smoothly through all of the gears just as it should. The exhaust on the car is brand new and to any expert will detail exactly what is under the hood. At idle the car is quiet, as almost to not awaken its competition at a traffic light, but with the quick flex of the peddle she will truly rumble.
