Vehicle Detail

I am selling a 1983 Pontiac Trans AM that I have owned since 2003. This car was an extremely rare and top of the line car when it came off the assembly line. This is a Cross Fire Injected 305 with T Tops and Black in color. This car has almost every option that was available in 1983 on the Trans am. The car comes with power windows, power locks, tilt wheel, air conditioning, hatch opener, T Tops, Posi Traction Rearend that Does work and the gear ratio is 3.23. This car has the very rare 1983 Cross Fire Injected Engine which ran much nicer than the 1982. (I have owned both). The motor is 100 percent original including all accessories and A/C system. I had a ton of new parts on this engine when I was driving it. I loved working on this motor and getting it to run nicer. I never altered anything to ruin originality. The transmission was originally the first year of the 700R4 but when I purchased the car it had a TH350 in the car. In 2006 I put a totally rebuilt TH350 in the car and it has less the 1000 miles in it. I still have the original 700R4 from the car and it will come with it if wanted. I actually got this 700R4 from another 1983 Cross Fire Trans am I used for parts a few years ago. I do not know its condition. The rearend is a Positraction 3.23 Ratio rearend that works well. The body is quite rust free for being in Iowa for a few years. The car has never sat outside at all since I have owned it. It has been in a shed or garage for the past years I have owned it. Both Headlights work properly up and down. This has some really nice tailights and rare (fuel injected) door handles on the outside. The t tops are good and not broken and work properly. This has the bubble hood. The pictures make it appear as if there is rust on the bottom of the door. Infact that is the original gold decals and not rust. The body will need work but rust should not be a factor. I have a ton of body parts for 1982-1984 Trans ams. I have headlights, tailights, bubble hoods, a bead blasted mint condition front bumper, bumper inserts and much more if needed. The interior has some good parts to talk about too. The dash pad is mint and also a rare part. This has a mint steering wheel with tilt column. All of the gauges work properly in the gauge cluster. The radio and speakers work. All of the lights work. The interior does smell like mice but this is Iowa so that is natural for a sitting car. I have quite a few interior parts for these cars too. The wheels are very nice firebird rims that I paid decent money for a few years back. They are 15 inch wheels. They also have a set of 4 nice center caps. All of the tires hold air and are drivable. I have a Clear and Clean Title with this car that comes with it. I want to stress that this is a very original car that will need some work. The motor will run but needs work. It is not a bottom end issue when running the car has great oil pressure and has for some time. The fuel pump may have gotten to weak to start the car but it will turn over and fire on gasoline currently. This used to be driven all the time until 2007 but I parked it due to faulty valve seats I believe. It has some significant blowby but still ran. I know this car up and down. I know every bolt and everything about it so if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask. There are some things I may not know but that would be from the previous owner era. Otherwise I have done alot of work on this to keep it running when I drove it. This car ran awsome when I first had it. It was very strong and quick and really a major head turner. I was always getting compliments and questions even without a perfect body. This is a very rare car for a fixer upper. In my opinion this is one of the best looking Trans ams ever produced and I have owned 10 of various years. I wanted to fix this up myself but I simply dont have the time right now. Hopefully someone else can enjoy it somehow or use it to make 1 out of 2 . There is no reserve on this and please ask me anything you need to know. I live in West Central Iowa. I will help load it on a trailer. I also have a truck and trailer myself.
