As Bob Nagy of automedia.com said of this GORGEOUS 2002 Lincoln LS Premium model, it’s got “International flair with an American pedigree,” and he is SO right! This LS is equipped with the DOHC engine, a 3.9-liter/252-horsepower V-8. This premium four-door comes packing a mega-roster of standards. Our version features all the standard options such as: leather upholstery, dual power front seats, power tilt/telescoping steering column, dual-zone climate-control system, power windows/locks/mirrors, keyless remote with anti-theft/anti-lockout, cruise control, all-speed traction control, AM/FM/CD (premium Alpine 6 disc) and front/front-side airbags. If you’re not too familiar with this model year you should know that Lincoln decided to do a bit of nomenclature by changing the lineup; while formerly models were marketed as “packages” this year (2002) they were re-designed as models – Base, Convenience, Sport, Premium and then the LSE. Our car sports the PREMIUM model with added additional features. First, let’s look at the additional options that come with the ‘Premium’ model which include: an electronic message center, electrochromic rearview mirror with compass, power in place of manual lumbar support on the driver's seat, memory feature on the adjustable steering column, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Some additional features that were added beyond the ‘Premium’ model designation include the upgraded Power Moonroof/Sunroof with power tilt / slide functions, an All-Season Package (Advance Trac stability control and heated seats), a Communication System (voice-actived cell phone plus safety security services), and a Premium Alpine Stereo Sound System with 6 disc player. Not to be out done, this car also has some aftermarket upgrades that include: Forte F54 Studio Machined Faced wheels with a black mirror finish on the interior of the design and a customized white outer finish to really make this car command any passerby’s attention. ANTYRE brand HP 188 tires, and professionally installed window tint accentuate the customized look of this car. This LS is trimmed in a white exterior with a tan interior. It has low miles at 89,700 (actually a little less as pictured in the display, but with test drives, I always like to have a little allowance in the description). The exterior of this car is in overall excellent condition. There are no dents and only minor scratches on the rear bumper commensurate with the age of the vehicle. Please refer to the pictures as they do serve as part of the complete item description. The wheels are great with only minor scuffing and the tires have plenty of tread remaining. The interior is in great shape too! The leather is soft and supple, without the usual unsightly cracks for a car of this year. The dashboard is perfect, and the wood grain accents are stunning. The carpet is in good shape, as are the mats, and the headliner is fabulous as well. This is a non-smokers car, and still has that ‘new car’ scent. Mechanically this car is ready to drive anywhere! All of the power options are fully functioning. The engine sounds good and the transmission shifts smoothly. There is nothing that I am currently aware of mechanically that needs mentioning. This car has been serviced from day 1 of its initial purchase. Most recently at the end of March 2011, I was hearing lots of noise when starting up the vehicle. I took it to the Lincoln service center and they found that the hydraulic fan was leaking and causing the noise. They repaired the leak at the fan (installed nylon bushing). Also, the ‘check engine light’ was on at that time too. They found that it was the catalytic convertors, right side was faulty and the left side not reading. That’s pretty much been the ONLY things I’ve had to service since my purchase other than normal lube, oil filter service. Of course, as this vehicle is a PRIVATE-PARTY sale, I’m offering it in ‘AS-IS’ condition, so please, know that it is your responsibility to fully inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. I’m not trying to imply that there’s anything mechanically wrong with it – but by law I have to inform you that it’s your responsibility to pre-inspect. All sales are final!
