Vehicle Detail
For Sale is a very solid and straight - 79,000 original miles - 1979 Ford Ranchero GT Brougham. This truck is a one owner vehicle bought in Virginia by my clients father brand new in the fall of 1978. The vehicle has a 351M V8 2 barrel engine, with FMX automatic transmission, Air Conditioning and leather bench seats with pull down armrest to form buckets. The car has not been on the road since 2003 - but- has been started every year and runs. It was last started and run in the winter of 2010. Since it was such a cold winter here, all the tires went flat and the vehicle now will need a little work to get back and running on the road, or loaded on to a flatbed. There is no rust holes or rot in the floor or frame. The pick up bed has some minor surface rust on the sidewalls where scratches occurred. The back of the bed where it meets the tail gate has some minor surface bubbling. The outside skin of the tailgate has some rust through. The bumpers have surface rust but could be re-chromed, and are in good shape. This vehicle is ALL ORIGINAL except for one repaint back in the 90's with the only thing that didn't get done was re-installing the full side stripe which the car came with at mid body. The lower stripe was installed which I'm not sure is a factory style stripe. The car has one minor dent on the passenger door where someone appeared to open it up against a tree or stump. The interior is fair. The dashboard is all there with all equipment in place including original factory stickers. The carpet needs replacing and the seats recovering. Glass is all good and all chrome is decent and in place. This car could easily be cleaned up and the paint buffed out and driven the way it is. I'm amazed that for a car that's been sitting around since 2003 it's in such good shape. This care would make an EXCELLENT car to restore. In checking these vehicles I've seen pristine original ones with very low mileage selling for around $19,000 and the average "beater" that isn't original but on the road selling for around $6500. I've bought and sold a lot of muscle cars and bikes in my years and when I see something that has potential to be a really nice car, I think it's worth telling about. This car has POTENTIAL to be a very nice restored car that could sell in the mid to high teens. It's all there and solid. On Jul-15-11 at 06:04:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Just as a point of interest, anything you see on the paint of the car, with the exception of a small surface rust spot on the left rear of the truck body, is all debris and crud droppings from a tree that was next to the car for a long time. We plan on power washing the whole car early next week and cleaning it up to show you how nice it really is.
