Vehicle Detail
1981 Porsche 911 SC originally imported from Germany. The car is registered in New York and has a clean title. The car is a wonderful driver. My mechanic recently said "I would not hesitate to drive this to California and back." The engine is the high compression European motor originally making 204 horsepower in stock trim. Additionally, the CIS has been removed and replaced with dual Weber carbswhich provide instant throttle response and a wonderful growling noise. The fueling system has been properly modified for the carbs. Combined with the Bursch muffler and SSI heat exchangers the car sounds amazing - and coupled with the additional power from the induction, tuning and exhaust upgrades with a low weight of around 2500 lbs, the car really rips. The suspension is mostly stock components with Koni shock upgrades. Car has the original 16 x 6 et 36 / 16 x 7 et 23.3 lightweight Fuchs. I have a spare set of 16 x 7 et 23 /16 x 8 et 10 MSWs. I also have a set of spacers and 17x7 et 55 /17x8.5 et 50 Boxster twists - all three wheels are shown in the pictures. The car tracks straight and true with very communicative steering, and no power assist. Road feel is incredible. Car is set at European ride height. The body has an extremely rare European Ruf front bumper with integrated fog lights and an integrated front lip. The rear has a whale tale. Paint is original. The interior is perfect. It has the smell of oil and leather than you only get with a classic air cooled 911. New Pioneer radio with CD and Auxiliary input for your MP3/Pandora devices. The car has a rebuilt transmission and recently adjusted clutch. NO OIL LEAKS - you will find other sellers saying that leaking or oil consumption is normal - this is not the case - a leaking car or excessive consumption means there are issues. This car is leak-free and does not burn oil. It has recently been seen by a local specialist who prepared it for sale (all receipts, over $2,300 in work).Work included:-compression test / leak down-valve adjustment-carb adjustment/tune-replaced oil return tubes with weltmeister tubes-new fuel pump, lines and pressure regulator-new plugs, coil and coil wire-new valve cover gasket, nuts, washers-oil change/filter-new ignition switch-new starter-new steering column bushings I will include all receipts and records. I will also throw in some extras. I have two shop manuals and the original literature (in German). I will also include a copy of "101 Projects for Your Porsche 911" by Wayne Dempsey. I have body-colored headlight rings. Finally, I will include a car cover. NADA Value for this car ranges from $17,100 low to $26,200 high.August 2011 issue of Excellence rated values from $18,400 in rough shape to $25,800 for a perfect car. These two cars just went on eBay, for market comparison:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1981-Porsche-911-SC-Coupe-L-K-/170647972125?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27bb69691d#ht_500wt_1182 - sold for $18,200http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1981-Porsche-911-SC-Targa-/200614010044?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2eb586dcbc#ht_500wt_1182 - sold for $17,000 This is not a rough runner or a beat car - it is not a $12,000 SC - this is a great driving car in excellent mechanical shape with far more power than your typical SC. You can purchase an SC for less, but you are going to spend far more than my asking price on maintenance after the initial purchase price. Make me a reasonable offer. Auction is for the car with the Fuchs - if you would like the MSWs or Twists, state so in the offer. VIN is WP0ZZZ91ZBS100812.eBay instructed me to use 17 0s for the VIN since the country of origin for this vehicle was Germany. This is why it has the far more powerful, higher compression German engine and lower ride height. The car has been legally registered in New York State with no problems whatsoever. I have the clean title and had no issues registering it.
