Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1973 Chevrolet Camaro. I bought the car several years ago with hopes of dropping in a 383 stroker. The car has a Turbo 350 Trans w/ B&M shifter and 3.08:1 rears. The car is setup for turn key and then push-button start. I bought the 383 and removed the 350; shortly thereafter I deployed overseas several times and I am now up for orders and have to move; needless to say the car is disassembled. I would really like to keep this car, but after 4 deployments to Iraq and several elswhere throughout Asia and the Middle East, change of station from NC to VA and now back to NC, it's time to realize I am not going to have the time to do what I want with it. Included in the auction is the 350 (correct year; NOT numbers matching) that needs rebuilt. The engine has a 625 4bl Carter Carb, fan, pulleys, alternator etc. Of course the 383 from Tuff Dawg Engines is included. I paid $3495.00 for the engine; I have never fired it, or put it in the car; it is still in their crate and attached to a cherry picker so it can be loaded. My ex wife has my engine info; however, I know it is the 383/450hp. The info from their website http://www.tuffdawgengines.com/chev_383_450hp.htm -- 450HP @ 5500rpm and 460ft lbs of torque @ 4500rpm this engine has a rough idle and will run on leaded or unleaded 91 Octane pump fuel Balanced rotating assembly typically includes crankshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, balancer, and flexplate 3.750" stroke crank 5.7" forged big beam rods with ARP rod bolts 10 to 1 compression hypereutectic flat top pistons Seasoned 4-bolt main block with one piece rear main seal to prevent oil leaks Block has provision for mechanical fuel pump Engine comes with automatic transmission flexplate - 14" diameter, 168 teeth Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good seal New Hydraulic flat tappet cam with .512" valve lift New Dart/World/RHS heart-shaped chamber, 200cc intake runners, cast iron, straight plug heads with 2.02"Int/1.600"Exh swirl polished stainless valves with undercut stems for even more flow Heads cast with extra thick deck surface Hardened exhaust seats for use with both leaded or unleaded fuels New 1.440" High performance springs set up to match cam New Chrome moly retainers and hardened keepers New High temperature valve seals New Valve guides New Screw-in rocker studs with guide plates New Roller rocker arms New Hardened push rods New Perfect Circle rings New Double row timing set New High volume oil pump with welded big pickup screen and steel drive shaft and steel guide New Revolutionary 1-pc design molded rubber oil pan gasket with load limiters to prevent over-tightening and higher temperature resistance than standard cork-rubber gaskets New Brass expansion plugs New Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum intake manifold All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality look This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, driver side chrome dipstick and tube, timing cover, harmonic balancer, valve covers, and an Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum intake manifold. -- This car is NOT perfect. Even when it was assembled and driving, it was a 10 footer, but a head turner. There is a small chip below the passenger side door handle where an ex-girlfriend banged a street sign and a small imperfection in the hood where the center post of the carb/pan assembly made a small hole; the repair is shoddy, but not obscenely noticeable. The dome light wire is cracked. Needs new jute padding for the back dash. Missing center cap for one of the rims. To the best of my knowledge everything from radiator to tailpipe is with the car; however, I did not get a new carb, or other exterior parts for the new engine. I don’t want the car to sound terrible, but I want to be up front and honest. I am active duty military, so please try to give me as much advanced notice as possible to arrange pickup. If you are local and want to see the car, ask me. Please do not waste my time or yours by winning the auction and coming "just to look." Ask the questions first. If you want more pictures of specifics, let me know and I can try to add them or email them to you. You win it, you buy it. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
