If you want to keep cold in the summer and warm in the winter, this car is for you. If you want to have a car that looks like it never was in a parking lot, this car is for you. The interior and exterior are in really great condition. The dash is crack and scratch free, the leather seats and door panels are immaculate, the carpets and headliner are stain-free, and the wood trim is as new. This is a really well maintained, rust-free Benz with plenty of power, with no leaks or odd noises (such as squeaks or rattles). Started up right away all winter, the heated seats and fast acting heater were great. Now that it is summer, the ice-cold air is fantastic. You can push the button to open the leak-proof sunroof whenever you want too. The sound system is great, with 6 CD changer, AM/FM, cassettes and a Weather Band radio all in one. ABS works great. Has a nice sounding low resistance exhaust system too. Is it reliable? Comfortable? Nice looking? Fun to drive? Does it have plenty more life in it? Absolutely. Is it perfect? Almost. All higher end Benz’s with Automatic Slip Control (ASR) made during the last few years of this series (1995 was the last year for this really solid body) have temperamental electronic throttle bodies. This is not a safety problem or anything like that. On occasion, the electronic throttle will change over to a standard throttle for a while. The only difference between the two is that you have to press a little harder on the gas. The issue is caused by a very moody resistor in the throttle body.Plenty of meat on the tires, very solid alloy wheels .Some of the interior shots came out with a blue tinge. The seats have no blue, they are completely tan with no stains rips or holes. The power driver and passenger seats are nice, firm and comfortable. The power seat mechanism, and the power front and rear headrests work perfectly.Does is sip gas like a Prius? Nope. But it gets better mileage than our Pacifica. I get 16-17 around town and 20 on the highway. I don't believe in jackrabbit starts - which it will do if you want - so you may get more or less. But then again, you are not buying an economy car.Don't be fooled by the E500 on the trunk lid, its a 420, the previous owner just wanted to make his neighbors think he was rich. Like you don't nee big bucks to buy a 420????You'll enjoy this car that will run forever. I'm just reducing what my wife calls my "fleet." But I'll probably get some more cars real soon - its my only vice.
