Vehicle Detail

This auction includes a 1967 Mercury Cougar and a 1968 Mercury Cougar. Both cars have been partially disassembled for restoration. Both cars have some rust in the floor pans, but appear to be solid in the rails. The ‘67 has had some of the patch panels for the floors placed but not welded in yet. Both of these cars belonged to my cousin whose husband was restoring them. He was killed in a car accident and the cars have been sitting for several years. She decided to get rid of the cars so I am selling them. The 289 out of the ’67 was rebuilt completely. It should be ready to go back in the car. I do not know all of the specifics of the rebuild, but I do know that he upgraded the intake from the original 2 barrel to a Weiand 4 barrel aluminum intake. I have pulled the valve covers off to inspect cleanliness, and it all looks new. The 302 is still completely assembled. I am sure that it should be rebuilt, and I do not know if it ran or not before it was removed. It is all there though and would eliminate the need to go looking for parts. Both of the cars were equipped with power steering from the factory and everything is there except the pump on both cars. I have not come across either of those yet. Both cars are equipped with disc brakes, and one of them had a power brake booster, but I do not know whether it was all factory equipment or if someone added it later. There is one set of bucket seats, and two rear seats. The dash/gauge cluster of both cars appears to be all there. The ’68 was equipped with air conditioning and the A/C box and controls are still in the dash. I have not seen the compressor in all of the boxes of stuff yet, but I will post more info if I find it. There are two sets of taillights, and I have both of the sequential turn signals assemblies. There are two sets of headlights, but there is some rust damage to the corners of the housings. This all appears to be repairable without too much trouble. The ’67 has a deck lid that could be used. It does not appear to have any rust-through on the inside lip, but it will need work on the outer surface due to surface rust. The ’68 needs a new deck lid. The doors from the ’67 do not appear to have any major rust damage, but they have some good dents. The ’68 doors are in better shape, but do have some minor rust in the front corners and still have some dents to be repaired. Both cars need a hood. They are both in rough shape. I only have one transmission for the cars, and the ’68 has had the automatic brake pedal removed(which I have), and a set of manual pedals installed. The 1968 came to me with a KY title, but I have no title for the 1967. I have an old tag receipt for that car from 1990, but that is all I have for it. It will come with a bill of sale.
