1968 Mustang coupe X code for sale by owner, located in east TX 1hr east of Dallas. Car is fairly complete but does not run or stop, will steer for loading on a trailer. Car was originally Gulfstream Aqua with a black std interior. X code is a 390 2V and this car retains a 390 2V motor although I have know idea if it is the original. Also equipped with a C6 and 9"rear with unknown gears, 4 wheels drums.Car would be a great project for someone with moderate resto skills, will need all the normal Mustang specific rust areas minus the more serious frame and quarter replacement, etc. Most obvious is the core support and inner fender aprons. Long floor plans and a patch on the passengers trunk above the spring/spare tire area as shown in the photo. Cowl has minor rust that could be repaired with the cheap cowl patch kits. All the glass is good except the windshield and the hood and trunk are junk. Black std interior will need everything as well but seat cores are included. Car still retains the original Gulfstream colors in many places and looks to only have the current gray primer over the original. I bought the car back in 2009 from NC but I have way too many things going between family and work obligations. The car is fairly rare (less than approx. 500 coupes) and a okay starter project for fair money. Car does have the reinforced shock towers and would be somewhat unique finished out. Car was purchased from NC and did not have the dash mounted VIN tag that was new for 1968. I have two 68 parts cars on my property that do not have the dash VIN but it should be pointed out. Car does have the matching VIN inside the drivers door, buck tag on the passenger side fender apron, and corresponding numbers on the drivers front apron. Passenger apron has been poorly replaced with a donor apron with a nonmatching VIN. A local inspection is encouraged and I would be happy to answer any questions. Delivery is the responsibility of the purchaser although I could possibly deliver within a reasonable distance for a reasonable fee. I am sorry how poorly the car shows in the pictures and I spent zero time putting air in the tires, etc. It is a project that I would like to sell to free up some time. Phone calls are the preferred communication vs the multiple two sentence questions but I realize some people feel better about emails for whatever reason.
