MGA 1600 PROJECT. The car was disassembled and the chassis was rebuilt with parts from Clarke Spares – floor supports & battery boxes. The frame was blasted & painted(has some chips now), and the front end was assembled. The 1600 engine was rebuilt with oversize pistons (I think .040 over). It’s all been stored indoors about 20 years. See the pictures for more details. Some new parts: New copper brake lines and 3 rubber hoses. Fuel lines and stainless hoses for carbs. Lots of rubber pieces incl. suspension bushings, tranny mount, leaf spring pads, pedal draft excluder, shift boot, rack boots. Rebuilt shocks from Apple Hydraulics. New front bumper, and one overrider. One U-Joint, brake pads. Old unopened can of maroon engine paint from Bill Hirsch. Pair of aftermarket tail light lenses. The body is sitting on another frame. The body was stored outdoors, under covers and has lots of surface rust. There’s a convertible top & frame and a pair of aftermarket side windows. The rear axle was disassembled, cleaned & painted, but not reassembled. There are two trans tunnels, one’s in very good condition. The tranny is missing the shift lever. The right front fender is missing. Good windshield. No seats, backs or frames. No brake calipers. No steering column or wheel. There might be other parts missing. Carbs & manifolds, fuel pumps, gauges, many spare & duplicate bits & pieces. 4 rims Unknown mileage, last registered in 1974. I have no title paperwork, just the VIN plate. I'm estimating the year at 1961. Car can be viewed anytime by appointment in Massapequa, NY. Buyer is responsible for any fees and tax. Local pick-up. Buyer should make all the shipping arrangements.
