Up for auction, a 1981 Mercedes 240D bulletproof tank (I am exaggerating, its not a tank and prolly not bullet proof). This is however a famous car known for its durability. The broken odometer says 313,xxx and that was when I bought it a year ago. This is a daily driver. It has been used to get me to work and has done a great job. Here are the good and bad. The Good: A/C works. It will NOT freeze you out but will keep the cab comfortable even in Houston Summer weather. I have NEVER charged the AC (means there is no leak) Heat works : During the winter, the heater will make you sweat. Engine runs very well Tires (4) are only 6 months old Shocks (4) are only 1 year old Generator (alternator) is only 4 months old. Driver has new crank window installed ($45 from Rockauto) (still looking for handle though. hope to have that in the next few days) Power antenna works. All filters have been replaced (and I have extra fuel filters) Valve adjustments have been made (every 6 months with MB tools in the picture) The tools (wrenches, car jack, tire iron) come with the car Full size spare. All gears work great (4 speed manual including reverse) The clear coat is still good, but the driver side rear door was repainted. Cant tell unless you are 5 feet away. Brakes are good (no shimmy) Steering is good. The bad: Power windows don't work. (AC was enough for me and kids) Interior dome light in the front is gone Paint is chipped on the front of the hood (B.B. size road rash) Grill is ugly Driver side seat has a tear about the size of a half dollar Back of driver's seat is unraveling (look at picture) Dash has long skinny cracks The car leaks a little oil. Windshield has cracks, but passes inspection. Radio is in but not hooked up (always listened to ipod) If you are looking to impress people with your car, keep looking this ain't it.
