Vehicle Detail

1972 Dodge Dart Swinger Special This is a 3 owner car and could be classified as a “survivor”. This car has lived a very sheltered life. It is one of the most solid, original Mopars you will find. For drivability, I have removed and saved all the original components that I replaced. This car is believed to have only 39,000 original miles and I believe this to be true. It is a 318 automatic car with 7 ¼ rear end. It came factory without the vinyl top. It has a perfect all-original rubber floor. All the rubber weather stripping is in original, like new condition. It runs, drives and stops just like a low mileage, original should. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere. It has a nice, all original interior except for the seat covers, which were replaced with Legendary Interiors covers. All electrical components on the car work as they should, except the factory AM radio—which just needs to be rebuilt. I have the build sheet and some original paperwork also. Unlike many people, I have shown mostly the cars flaws in the photos. New parts: Ignition: new ballast resistor, new ICU, and distributor. Charging System: Rebuilt original alternator, replaced original starter, New battery, positive and negative battery cable. Steering and Suspension: Replaced original power steering pump. Fuel System: Replaced original carburetor with correct NOS carburetor, replaced all rubber fuel lines, new fuel filter, and new fuel pump. Brakes: Replaced master cylinder and rubber brake lines Cooling System: Radiator re-cored to a 3 core radiator, new fan clutch and fan and correct fan shroud. Body: The car is extremely solid. It had one repaint in 1996, which is a Maaco quality job. The repaint was due to it’s former elderly owner scraping the side of the car when pulling it into her garage…it was repainted for that reason. There is a poorly repaired dent on the passenger side, rear quarter panel. That is the car’s biggest flaw. There is no rust, no rust holes and no rust bubbles on the car, with the exception of a BB sized hole in the spare tire well in the trunk—truly a survivor in my opinion . A can of stain or varnish was spilled in the trunk at sometime in its life, which is most of what is seen in the picture of the trunk. Interior: New seat covers made by Legendary Interiors, Inc, using NOS material. A/C: Cold A/C that has been converted to 134a. Wheels and Tires: New BF Goodwrench T/A Radial Tires and 1970’s style factory rally wheels. Misc.: Car has had a complete tune-up. Replaced all belts and hoses under hood. ***Serious buyers please email me…..no trades. You must see this car in person to fully appreciate and judge for yourself.
