UPDATE: $10,750 or or Best Offer. Purchased new in 1967; remained with single owner; 74,915 mileage; runs like new; 4 cylinder; 12 V; new top, new paint, partial new pan, multiple other updates in 2000. There *is* rust underneath the battery that will require patching. My mother passed in February of this year and this car this is now part of her estate. My siblings and I reluctantly have to sell. My dad purchased this car new in 1967 as the primary "family car". For a family of two parents and three kids - it still seemed luxurious at the time. We even drove it down to Florida from Ohio in 1968! I am the oldest sibling and I learned how to drive in this car. From '67 to mid '70's the car was driven by my dad to / from local work and he used a beat-up station wagon for hauling or anything else that might damage his precious Bug. From 1974 - 1981 the Bug became a second car - driven by dad in the winter and the three kids in the summer during high school and college. While there were plenty of pranks related to the car (e.g., finding it moved from the street to the sidewalk by some jokesters) there were never any accidents. The Bug became a third car in 1982 - 2001, driven sporadically during warm weather only (remember this is in Ohio!) Thus the low mileage. In 2000 my father had approximately $2500 worth of rework on the car by the same guys who'd maintained it from the beginning. I detailed some of the changes above. We have copies of the detailed receipts. In 2001 my father became ill and died of lung cancer over a six week period. The car was not driven again regularly. Again - a contributor to low mileage. Before advertising, I did have a local VW mechanic (recommended by Ohio Classics VW Club) look over the car and get it started. She sounded like her old self again.
