History: The Triumph TR6 was introduced in 1969 as a replacement for the TR5/TR250. The TR6 featured similar running gear components and chassis as its predecessor but incorporated new external styling. The updated styling, courtesy of Karman of Germany, allowed for more trunk capacity in the rear of the vehicle when compared with previous models. The doors and the center section remained unchanged from the TR4 and TR5 models. The interior comfort and drivability of the TR6 made it a highly successful British sports car. It was similar to the TR4 and TR5 with quality trim and a walnut dash. The TR6 was fitted with a 2498 cc inline six-cylinder engine. The European fuel-injected version of the engine was capable of producing around 150 horsepower, while the US carbureted variant produced 104 horsepower. Condition: This TR6 has had a total frame off restoration. The original exterior color was burgundy and the interior black. I have put around 6000 miles on the car since it was completed. There are minor things that still could be done. The frame and suspension parts were all sand blasted when disassembled. Also the body was media blasted before going to the body shop for paint. Look at the pictures below to see the different stages of the restoration. Features: Engine Rebuilt; Pistons, rings, bearings, thrust washers, oil pump, timing chain, seals, valves, block cleaned and bored. Cylinder head is a higher compression UK head. Great oil pressure Transmission; Non overdrive, inspected, new seals, new clutch disk and throw out bearing. Suspension; All new bushings, upper ball joints, tie rod ends, hub seals, front rotors turned, new brakes all round, new brake hoses, rear tube shock conversion. Rebuilt rear hubs, all new u-joints.
