For your restoration consideration is a 1949 Chevrolet 6400 2 ton flatbed beast of a truck with 4 speed manual transmission and 2 speed rear end. Fly wheel spins free but have never tried to get her running. Bought her for a parts truck, when my wife said that it would be a shame to scrap her and I agreed. I was offered $500 last weekend as scrap,hint(reserve)hint, but ncould not do it. What you choose to do with it is up to you. Pros: Solid truck, seems mostly original, not much rust through for being 62 years old, engine solid and spins free, great original rocket hood ornament, windshields free of cracks, gauges(fuel etc) intact and volt guage moves when charger was hooked up, headlights and parking lights worked when hooked up, original chrome/glass clearance lights, stainless glovebox door and dash panel/ashtray. Needs: seat covered, floor work in front corners of cab, body work, fuel line fron pump to carb, air filter, new key cyinder as it did noy come with a key,and lots of tlc. Tires are weather checked but have good tread. Front drivers side needs replaced for safety as it is a retread. They are 8.25X20.
