This auction is for a 2003 Honda Accord EX coupe finished in San Marino Red with the Ivory leather interior and Light Burlwood trim. It's powered by a 240 horsepower VTEC V6 engine that has received excellent reviews by engineers and the automotive press for its high power output, great economy and inherent smoothness. It features an aluminum block and cylinder heads for light weight and excellent heat dissipation, VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) for maximum power output at all engine speeds, multiport fuel injection for excellent gas mileage, distributorless coil on plug (COP) ignition for reliability in all environmental conditions and drive by wire electronic throttle for precise control of drivability parameters. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. This transmission has a low first gear that provides brisk acceleration which gets you from 0 to 60 mph in a sports car like 5.9 seconds, while the high overdrive top gear allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent fuel economy figures in the mid 30’s mpg in real world driving. It’s a Wells Fargo Financial bank repo vehicle. CLICK HERE to see the title. It has a very clean body with a brilliant paint finish. The paint itself is beautiful and shiny and has just been cleaned with Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay System, polished with Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze cleaner polish and topped off with Meguiar’s Synthetic Sealant for a high gloss shine. Even both the front and also the backsides of the wheels have been cleaned! How obsessed is that? Ditto for the polished stainless steel exhaust tips. The front bumper had some cuts and scuffs and instead of trying to repair them and possibly have the repair start to peel or crack six months or a year later, I had a brand new bumper painted and installed instead. The only cosmetic issues of note on the exterior are some road rash, (tiny paint chips) on the front edge of the hood and fenders, two shallow quarter size dents without paint damage on the A-pillar above the drivers door window and which a paintless dent repair tech could probably remove, and a touched-up parking lot door ding on the left quarter panel which also could probably be removed by PDR. None of these blemishes are excessive and are what you would normally expect on a vehicle of this age and mileage The interior is in very nice condition as well. Just the outer side bolsters on the front seats have some wear and the rear carpet shows some dirt. To make up for that I’ve installed a brand new set of factory Honda Accord embroidered floor mats. And the car doesn‘t appear to have been smoked in, in fact it’s not even equipped with a lighter. The upholstery has been treated twice with Lexol conditioner to preserve the leather and give it a soft supple feel. The trunk is clean and the engine compartment has been cleaned and detailed to look great. Mechanically it runs and drives great as well. The car starts instantly whether hot or cold. The engine pulls strong and yet feels silky smooth both at idle, while accelerating and throughout the cruising range and the transmission shifts are barely noticeable. The air conditioning blows ice cold. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes have no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping, and the suspension is tight. It has a matching set of four BFGoodrich Touring T/A tires size 205/60R16 with excellent tread on the fronts and good tread on the rears. These are sport touring tires that combine a unique high performance asymmetric tread design with exceptional all-season wet/dry traction, extended comfort, excellent handling, long tread life. They have been balanced with stick-on balance weights on the insides of the wheels for a super clean look. And remember, Hondas are low maintenance vehicles and this Accord is no exception with 105,000 mile timing belt and spark plug replacement intervals and 60,000 mile coolant change intervals. The second owner titled the car on 4/16/2004 with 26,208 miles. It was repossessed and Wells Fargo Bank titled it 1/11/2011 with 107,601 miles which AutoCheck incorrectly lists as a third retail owner. Overall this is a super sharp car that looks fantastic in the rare San Marino Red color. Named after a state in Italy, it’s the same shade of red Ferrari uses and will turn heads everywhere you go. If you’re buying an EX coupe you know they are pretty much all equipped the same, so you might as well buy one with the nicest color available and you can’t get any better than this color. But if you are the least bit shy, you may want to look at another car instead. The 2003 Honda Accord is the first year of the new bodystyle and is virtually identical to the later models up to 2007. Being that this is an ‘03 and the oldest model 7th generation Accord available, it is thus, also the cheapest priced model in that bodystyle you will find. In other words, you can own and drive a vehicle with the looks and prestige of a late model 2007 Accord, at a fraction of the cost. Also, I installed new rear “ACCORD” and “V6” nameplates on the LEFT side of the car like the 2007 models (’03-‘05’s had them on the right) so even a true Honda person won’t know you’re not driving a later model car, and I got the red lettered V6 nameplate instead of just black since, well, it looks hot. The price new of this loaded 2003 Accord EX was $26,360. CLICK HERE to see the original pricing. But because it was a hot new model, most dealers were adding additional market adjustment markups (read rip off), so with tax, title and tags, you were lucky if you got ANY change back from your $30,000 bill! If you are looking for a fully equipped 7th generation Accord EX coupe in great condition at a reasonable price, then this car is hard to beat. Sure you may be able to find them for less but you get what you pay for. Remember to compare those cheaper ones with this one, which is fully serviced and ready to go with most anything needing attention having been taken care of. Also remember that we don’t charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since no dealer is going to risk loosing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, because my reserve is close to the Buy It Now price, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered. Also when comparing the prices of other cars on Ebay, remember the things that you won’t have to spend money on. Since the expensive big ticket scheduled maintenance items for the 90K, 105K and 120K mile services have already been performed on this car, you won’t have to spend $700-$1,000 on a complete timing belt, water pump and coolant service. You won’t have to spend $400-$500 for brake service. You won’t have to spend $300-$400 for a tune-up and filter service. You won’t have to spend $300-$400 for a new set of tires. You won’t have to spend a lot of money on service item’s those other cars haven’t had done yet but make no mention of. This Accord has been one of my personal drivers for the last four months and it’s time to try something else. I bought this car at a dealer auction during the winter when prices are traditionally lower, and I’m passing on the savings in this Ebay auction. If instead of selling it back at a dealer auction I can sell it here on Ebay for a similar price and avoid dealer auction fees and transportation expenses, and the new owner gets the car at a true wholesale price, then both buyer and seller make out ahead. Remember, you can get a great deal on Ebay with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either.
